@hellosephi Late October, early November is a good time. Got to love the autumn leaves. Although of course it’s busy because of the leaves. Early December would be good because nothing is going on. If you head up to the mountains north of Tokyo perhaps Niigata. It might be pretty good.

@wellhiddenmatt Some of the holes in the "flat" plastic pillars don't line up with the bumpy bits on the lower metal plate. So you have to be careful not to tighten some of the bolts too much. As it happens, most of the plaatic pillars on the XV10 were already broken before I got to it. lol

It finally lives! (sort of) I'd been putting off repairing this for a while, as it's awkward to work on, and I didn't have a step-down trafo. Previous owner plugged the Q into 240V mains, and popped the standby trafo. I knew there was a good chance the SMPS was OK.

@AshEvans81 If that XV10 board works with the Q and also outputs the RGB. Perhaps there’s an opportunity for a megadrive 2 mini din output where the s-video connector is. 🤔

@AshEvans81 I might have to do this mod. I have a spare XV10 in storage and it rattles just like yours. Maybe the guide rails are still intact and I can swap them over. My PanaQ needs a picoboot on the GC and the PAL upgrade on the DVD. Luckily I have a bunch of Japanese DVDs though.
