Our collaboration with Cancer Research UK, which helped to almost triple funding for experimental medicine, has this week featured in @guardian Our partnership with @CRUK and the National Institute for Health and Care Research saw the total sum going to 12 paediatric centres in the UK over the next five years rise from £2.3m to £6.6m. The hope of all involved is that the increase in funding will mean more clinical trials will be given the green light and lead to kinder and more effective treatments for childhood cancers in the near future. The Guardian Labs series highlighted the project as part of its “Me, my family and cancer” campaign. LPT Ambassador – and former wig recipient – Teiva Collins also featured in the series which is running as part of September’s #ChildhoodCancerAwareness Month.

You were lucky. I had to get up in the morning at ten o'clock at night half an hour before I went to bed, drink a cup of sulphuric acid, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill, and pay mill owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home, our Dad and our mother would kill us and dance about on our graves singing Hallelujah.
