@AffinityWater The email we received from you regarding the hosepipe ban states it comes into effect on Friday 17th, however your website now states it started “with immediate effect” when the decision was made on Friday 10th, so which is it?

Your website states to contact you on X @AffinityWater yet you persistently ignore my posts. Low water pressure in LU3 is severely impacting residents. What is going on?

@MPsFailPeople @The_RHS Hi. We’ve seen demand for water in our region rise dramatically during the recent heatwaves, by over 160 million litres a day. We also rely on imported water, and as our neighbouring companies have also introduced restrictions, we had to act to protect supplies for our customers.

@AffinityWater @The_RHS - are water companies killing of gardening when consumers need them most? Will only commercial gardens exist in future? Is wildlife on a death sentence without diverse garden habitats? Is home grown veg killed off for healthy growers not able to lug watering cans?

@RichardSt_1976A Hi Richard. We are continuously finding and fixing as many leaks as possible, saving 39 million litres a day through fixing leaks alone. We are aiming for a total 31% reduction by 2030, If you’ve seen a leak, please report it here: affinitywater.co.uk/reportaleak

@davidbyers26 Hi David, sorry for the confusion regarding dates. The restrictions were announced on the 10th July, legally a seven day notice has to be provided, and the ban will be enforced from the 17th July. From the 10th July we are asking customers to be more cautious of water usage.

@msmonroe05 @AffinityWater Hi @AffinityWater - is the above true, as I can't see how it's defensible, i.e. why would "those on benefits with 3+ children" require a hose? Surely if the water stock is low, we all need to trim our usage (or use buckets etc), regardless of our welfare/child status. Thanks.

Dear water companies, @thameswater @AffinityWater and the rest… according to data, the uk water pipework loses 3 billion litres a day. That is the equivalent of completely draining the biggest uk reservoir “Kielder water” in 10 weeks!!

@AffinityWater Yet those on benefits with 3 or more children are exempt from the ban. So those of us that work to pay these people their benefits are discriminated against. Thats work discrimination, family discrimination, children discrimination,

So @AffinityWater have introduced a hosepipe ban, yet for 2 weeks there has been a water leak (reported 2 weeks ago) on the grass verge in front of my house. The grass verge is now an oasis of lush green grass & birds are flocking to it to drink

@AffinityWater you should be ashamed of yourselves, people under LU2/LU3 postcodes in Luton have virtually no water pressure. The only reason you’ve enforced a hosepipe ban is due to your mismanagement of your network, with more focus on your CEO & shareholders, get it sorted!!!
