@bobsgray @Ed_Miliband @lukeakehurst @GBNgovuk @grok And yet our electricity monthly cost decreased by 65%. Buying two batteries (19kw), having PV (2.5kw) and having FIT tariff means our monthly electricity is approx £45 per month for a house using 10,743 kWh in 2025. So bring on the renewables. I read the science

Every government for the last twenty years have succumbed to the environmental lobby spewing misinformation. We cannot survive economically just using renewables and currently are destroying our economy to achieve co2 reduction targets. Every other country with an oil/gas industry are booming and yet we are shutting ours down losing billions in the process. Miliband needs to admit the reality of our situation and support investment in the North Sea gas/oil industry as we will depend on fossil fuels for decades yet.

Contract signed 🤝 between Rolls-Royce SMR and @GBNgovuk to start building our first small modular reactors. SMRs will deliver clean, secure, homegrown energy for millions of homes and support thousands of jobs. A major step forward in our golden age of new nuclear power.

@bobsgray @Ed_Miliband @lukeakehurst @GBNgovuk @grok The Tories had 14 years to sort this out and sign the contracts. They dithered and ducked the issue. Now they want to go back to oil and gas even though all the science says otherwise and practically would not move the needle. Same for Reform

@ember_energy Wind and solar are the reason we have the highest electricity prices in the developed world More wind and solar are a bad thing. They're far more expensive than gas even now

Britain is now better insulated from gas price shocks than it was during the 2021–2023 energy crisis thanks to a buildout of solar and wind – which helped cut gas generation 🧵 ember-energy.org/latest-insight…

@ret_ward I wonder how Bob you keep calm (and sanity) when you receive these messages is amazing. Keep going!!! Ps just about to install a second battery and allied with our heat pump, PV and triple glazing, our costs should decrease by 75%.

What I admire most about the anti-net-zero lobby is their calm reasoned arguments.
David Boycott@david_boycott

@ret_ward Fuck off, you lying cunt. Renewables - and the backup and new grid buildout required because of Renewables - are the expensive part of the mix.

Apprehensive but also super excited to transition into a consultant role in May 😀 feels simultaneously like it’s taken forever to get here, but also gone way too quick and there’s no way I’m ready 😂 Onwards and upwards, time to rip the plaster off! #Neurology #Stroke

@imlirvingit Where are you planning to visit? Don’t just limit to the usual suspects. Amami Oshima (Kagoshima Prefecture), Takayama (Gifu Prefecture), Yakushima (Kagoshima Prefecture), Kanazawa (Ishikawa Prefecture) and Naoshima Island (Kagawa Prefecture) for example….

@imlirvingit @JamesFl Yet, we Brits don’t want to pay for that investment. We cannot have it both ways i.e. low taxes (or prices) and high investment.

@JamesFl We can (and should) be annoyed at the USA for this, however we are so prone to supply side shock due to decades of underinvestment and outsourcing our unpleasant industry to the developing world and delaying (public enquirying) critical infrastructure improvements.

@RichFromRail The shop / cafe at Huntingdon station closed prior to COVID and never reopened. Train staff said it was a council decision. Doesn’t sound right to me

I've never been so can't comment but independent cafes and shops at stations are dying and they form part of the fabric that make stations special... The old Nuneaton station volunteers cafe was top draw for example and made that particular station, just a touch different
Philip Haigh@philatrail

Oh, real shame to see Lebaneat has closed down at York station. They did great coffee but now the locks are changed and a window displays notices from a bailiff.

Dear @washingtonpost journalists. Solidarity on a terrible day. But also: it’s an opportunity. The @guardian also fucked over its journalists last year. Months later, 5 of us launched @thenerve_news - with zero £ - & it’s working! Rebuild your own media from the ground up 👊👊👊

I actually think this is a pretty miserable thing to do. It isn’t that close up to the London Eye that it’s disadvantaging those who are paying… Just let people find some pockets of joy!
Metropolitan Police@metpoliceuk

Primrose Hill will be closed on New Year’s Eve this year ⛔There will be fencing, security and a police presence to prevent access. If you had planned to head there to get a view of the central London fireworks, please make alternative arrangements.
