When we were discussing naming for what is now Aurora DSQL, I really wanted to name it Aurora Australis "The Southern Lights". The team wisely persuaded me that was too hard to say. I still kind of love the idea. We're now in the Southern hemisphere!

That median drop doesn't seem even close for the enteprise tech niche. Any stats for enterprise tech? What happened to the rich Systems Engineer and Architect community? They seem to be gone altogether. Maybe not deleted accounts, but I don't see many of my friends on the platform. I'd still consider myself a prolific content creator.

This is even more impressive when you know that S3 processes over 100,000,000 requests per second. Light travels less than 10 feet in the time between requests arriving at S3.

On 1 Dec 2020, AWS S3 announced that all writes to S3 are now strongly consistent (not eventually consistent, like before) *at no price change or latency changes* to any customers. Pulling this off was probably one of the biggest invisible engineering achievements of the decade

I a see lot of anxiety with customers when it come to AI. Lots of FOMO, fear of missing out. Fear is not a good decision driver. Hence my advise to get educated first before you dive in.That there is no shame in hitting a pause button. Partner Globant and I had an interesting fireside chat of which a clip is circulating. And please do not let the media determine your architecture.
