@westghost @acconf The #WorryWall gives people space to feel heard & realise they're not isolated in their worries + makes things visible to folks who wouldn't usually see them. I riff on the Circle of Control spheres: "Things I can change" "Things I can change with help" "Things I can't change"

@tottinge @branaby @mostalive Hey Tim, don't worry. There was very little SAFe specific content at XP. I know, I'm the industry and practice co-chair. There *was* too little technically focused content. Next year, I'm organising, so that's top of my list...

If, as I'm hearing, the XP convention has become a SAFe trade show, then XP is well and truly dead. I'll miss it. It gave us much joy when it was a lightweight method, when it was agile, when it was effective. I don't feel like letting go, but I guess I'll have to.

If you're looking for a well-regarded book on what object-orientation is really about, from folks who really know this stuff - then you can't beat this book. So it's wonderful that you can get such a great book as a free PDF download.

@sf105 @jezhumble @crdrost Our classic OOD book, Object Design: Roles, Responsibilities, and Collaborations is available for free to download as a pdf from Pearson's website ( they've graciously made this available). You can download it at informit.com/promotions/obj… and share w/ students

@codemanship Of course it’s not their decision. Developers, referring to two weeks of redesign/rewrite as refactoring, make people around them frightened of the term.

I keep hearing about people who want to track the progress of an Agile adoption. What are you going to track? Agile is about "responding to change over following a plan." Tracking towards a goal implies an up-front plan and a definite destination. 1/4
