@CS11__ New blood was pretty interesting, but Resurrection is insanely good. I cannot wait for season 2

My excitement for Dexter New Blood is very interesting at the moment Most importantly i’m just looking forward to seeing what a modern Dexter show looks like. How has Michael changed? How has the formula changed. I can’t wait to find out. But on the other hand: I’m cautious that it might spend a lot of time picking up elements from S8 that i don’t really care for. Instead of focusing on the new direction. These are all things that might be a total non issue. Just speaking out loud right now. Dying to find out what the deal with it is. That’s for sure.

@CS11__ I stopped watching a few episodes into season 3

Finished Dexter S8 a couple days ago and i kinda had the realisation that i’m just not enjoying this show anymore Never say never of course but i think i’ll be skipping on the Sequels for now.

I'm doing something? Something I shouldn't be doing, but something nonetheless. Westgrass lives.

Dexter S8 | Review “As much as I may have pretended otherwise, for so long, all I wanted was to be like other people. To feel what they felt. But now that I do, I just want it to stop.” Dexter S8 is a devastatingly mediocre end to what is otherwise, despite it’s issues, an absolutely incredible piece of television. It’s a final season that doesn’t know what it wants to be. It only bares the responsibility of being a conclusion at the very end of the road and it’s just too little too late. A season that tries everything and successfully delivers on nothing but disappointment, for the most part. It doesn’t earn the respect. It doesn’t earn the choices it makes with specific stories and characters, and despite how much i’ll forever love so much of Dexter, S8 leaves an annoyingly large impression on the overall experience. You’ve got Dr Vogel who is a character i really enjoyed actually. It’s a nice Motherly figure for Dexter and it’s a connection to his past, including the creation of the code, Harry’s desperation, it’s all things i really liked. Despite how boring some of the investigations were in the earlier episodes, i’m glad she was here. And what they completely fucked up is Oliver. What was so special about someone like Trinity is that we got to spend time with them from the very beginning, leading to tension and excitement for the entire season. Introducing Oliver as the villain in the final four (?) episodes is pure stupid. Cause when he ultimately kills Debra it simply doesn’t feel like they earned that. Again compared to Trinity where killing Rita was his final act and it narratively smart. All i felt when she was shot is “Oh it’s the final season i guess we better rush to kill someone big”. And it’s a shame cause if it was built properly it really could’ve worked. The emotion is there but the story isn’t, whatsoever. I’ve always like Hannah to a certain degree. I do not hate her here. But S8 falls right into the pattern that i didn’t enjoy in S7, and i just can’t understand that decision. The show continues to act stupid around her, Dexter does things i’d never ever expect. They push logic aside to make her work and it made me roll my eyes countless times. She’s gotta be in New Blood and i really don’t know if i care for her at all anymore. It was short lived but her Dex and Zach on the road trip was a nice moment, shame it didn’t last. Some really solid side stories in S8, i have to give it that. And some others that feel pointless. Despite the fact that i dislike how we got to the moment, i really loved everything Debra & Dexter got this season. Their relationship was at rock bottom, as was Deb, and they took their time building it back up to a really fantastic place. There’s a good amount of time where they’re simply working together with no drama and i couldn’t get enough of it. That relationship that carries so much depth and is performed by two incredible people, i’m really gonna miss it. To the point where it’s one of my worries about these sequel shows… The TLDR is: A season full of good ideas and god awful execution. A disrespectful waste of what has otherwise been a phenomenal series. I seriously can’t understand how you could feel proud releasing this product as your final hurrah. Emotionally i enjoyed some of the finale but thank god this isn’t the end of Dexter.

Something I haven't thought about in a while. I've been so focused on myself. I really do wonder who he gets to be now that I've taken his place. I hope that whoever they are, they're a better person than me.

No matter how S8 has went. Or that this isn’t THE end. There’s a real bittersweet feeling in finishing OG Dexter. It’s took over my life. Thanks again for being part of this journey 🙏

This is all quite silly, looking at the whole story. Westgrass has no idea any of this ever happened, yet I feel guilt. I feel bad for killing him, but did I really do that? No, I didn't. I only stumbled upon his body. Unless he saw what I did to his work, he never knew I existed

I'm sorry, westgrass. I've failed you. I just couldn't do it. I wasn't strong enough for this. It was good for a while, but I think I never should have done it. I guess you'll be here if I ever need to be you again.
