"The historical ambivalence about the German state’s role and related dilemmas about German power will not be easy for chancellor Friedrich Merz to resolve," writes #WFU politics and international affairs professor Mark Vail. "With respect to Germany’s capacity for decisive leadership, the past three years suggest that much work remains to be done." theconversation.com/new-chancellor…

Wake Foresters gathered in Washington, D.C. to celebrate Dr. Katy Harriger upon her retirement. Her 39 years as a Faculty member in the Department of Politics and International Affairs and her 8 years as the Faculty Director of the Wake Washington Center have yielded both influential research and meaningful relationships with hundreds of Wake Forest students. Dr. Harriger presented her “Last Lecture,” speaking to the critical role that Higher Education has in today’s world, then was joined by former students, former Wake Washington participants, and DC Deacs for a reception. #ProHumanitate

It’s been a great honor for me to teach alongside Dr. Katy Harriger this semester. She just finished teaching her last class — ever. I greatly value her leadership, mentorship, friendship, and service to @WakeWashington & Mother So Dear! @WFUAlumni @wfupol @WakeForest
