The WGEA is an association of grain businesses operating in Canada, which collectively handle in excess of 90% of western Canada’s bulk grain exports





Creating a more efficient and stronger supply chain in Canada is a priority for our government. I met with members of the Coalition of Rail Shippers to see how we can resolve the challenges they are facing and how we can work together to improve our supply chain.


I’m on the ground in Calgary, where @CanadianPacific and @TeamstersRail are trying to reach an agreement before a work stoppage begins. We are urging them to reach that agreement ASAP. I’ll keep you posted.

More than 80% of Canada’s grain and grain products are shipped to foreign markets through the Port of Vancouver. Saskatchewan and the three other western provinces make up 85% of the total value of goods that move through this port.
