The 'Aussie spirit' is back and I'm disgusted. Just like in covid, Australians have taken to social media to shame one another. This time, for filling any sort of container with fuel. God forbid it's me, a farmer, filling my 1,000L portable tank on the ute. That fuel runs pumps that keep my livestock alive. Machines that lift trees off buildings. Excavators that bury terminally sick horses and cattle. This is what we are primarily - a nation of sheep who don't need government or authority to police us...we do it to one another with a self-righteousness that actually should be ashamed of. Where my real crew at? The bold and the free, self aware enough to stop and think before tearing down our neighbours?

Since when can a not handsome, middle aged intellectual become famous - by doing hours long lectures, with a webcam, on obscure topics, on YouTube? It doesn't happen. Discovery is dead. I’ve been thinking about *One Battle After Another*, which has been taken by many, including none other than @BretEastonEllis, as a romanticization of #Antifa. In my opinion, it was closer to being a parody, with flawed, drug-addled losers violently pursuing a cause they don’t understand and barely believe in anymore. Its nods to the superior *Big Lebowski* makes this clear. The title itself, “one battle after another,” implies that Antifa is hopeless. Another way of interpreting the film, on a “meta-level,” is to see it as “predictive programming”: Hollywood is preparing the public for a crackdown on those smelly leftist radicals.
