@thdxr Glad to see this cause GitHub temporarily suspended my Copilot account a few weeks ago for using OpenCode…

the pool of people who have access to copilot is huge every enterprise microsoft customer has already bought it for their employees it's pretty amazing they're supporting OpenCode when other company is aggressively doing the opposite
OpenCode@opencode

OpenCode can now officially be used with your Github Copilot subscription with the $39 pro+ subscription you get access to the best coding models wonderful to see them support open source and user choice of tooling in this way

@LauraRbnsn He’s just not great at describing *things.* His description of food in stormlight is hilariously homogenous. The drawings of clothing styles of different ethnic groups in stormlight are helpful, and I wonder if he added them because he knows it’s a weak spot in his writing.

Also all Vin's dresses have an interchangeable waistline and hipline so I guess she has a really short torso or something

Mistborn, Well of Ascension, Sanderson thoughts. Sanderson struggling to describe women's clothes is hysterical. Martin actually does know historical clothing terms (he knows how to describe patterns, cuts, etc) and Sanderson doing a whole dress fitting scene for Vin where the

@LauraRbnsn Interesting, is that your experience? Not mine at all. Most of my students take a full course load and work 20-40 hrs on top of that. Many work nights, all work weekends.

@ChuckGrassley I'm confident they will be able to justify the current negotiated rates.

@ChuckGrassley Our universities carefully account for and negotiate the F&A rates - they don't come out of thin air. Please consult with your contacts at UI, ISU, and UNI to learn just how important those F&A costs are to the proper functioning of the research enterprise at state universities.

Glad 2 c NIH lowered grant admin costs called “indirect costs” to 15% This aligns w what major foundations use Just common sense! Some orgs were getting as high as 50 or 60% We need 2 use taxpayers $$$ wisely Research$ for research not bureaucracy

@KierDoyle I agree with you. The question is if it's a cause for concern or actually an expected outcome of learning a new system. It's concerning if the system doesn't work or the players aren't suited for it. We'll know after 10 more games, I bet.

@wheeler_worm Yeah I’d have to break down the possession stuff, I suspect so far it has not been a worthwhile trade off (most of Chelsea’s good stuff is like midblock possession to semi transition or actual transition), but well see

Some cause for concern on this one.
markstats@markrstats

Data at markstats.club updated for all leagues! The graph shows Press Resistance for Premier League teams. The top right corner highlights teams that prefer a patient buildup while rarely losing the ball near their own goal

@KierDoyle People are saying "we give it away as much as Bournemouth" which is true, but is it informative? Enzom's idea is that the xG generated off of successful, risky buildups >> xG allowed off of the mistakes.

@KierDoyle So less than 1 per game... And, I'm guessing, with many more attempts in that area. Dunno for sure, which is why I want to see it normalized. Enzom clearly isn't concerned with it. Unclear to me if that's foolish or not.

@sthsthburner @KerryCa69031147 Agree. I was initially disappointed when he didn't go to goal at speed, but then I had flashbacks to the countless times he's done that and had a rhino touch for a goal kick. Figuring out a few repeated movements that he can rely upon, and knowing his limits, is progress.

"What 83 you talkin bout?" "BAM'S 83!"
Think the answer to this is shielding Players who are good at shielding the ball (mainly 9s + wingers who receive back to goal) are v good at stopping on a dime and remaining balanced so they can absorb contact wo going to ground
"What 83 you talkin bout?" "BAM'S 83!"@sthsthburner

Like how do certain players use decelaration in football? In basketball it's useful for creating shots off the dribble but in footy idrk how useful it is Wonder if it helps with attacking low crosses or sth

@sthsthburner @KerryCa69031147 Mudryk did this vs Barrow. I thought his first touch should have been diagnol to goal but he slowed, defender slowed, then he burst to the line and had a nice decent weak foot cross.

@LauraRbnsn I build in to the syllabus 1-3 classes per semester without a scheduled topic just to give me a buffer that I can use when this inevitably happens. Instead of rushing, I can catch up later. In the fall, the first half of Thanksgiving week is great for that.

Nothing makes you feel older than a student wearing throwback band t-shirts of bands you used to listen to in college/grad school. Title Fight hasn't released a studio album since 2015 🙃
