The first #Nescrow Token/NFT trade has been executed on #Cardano mainnet. The first trade was fittingly made with the inventor of @OpShinDev - the language used to make #Nescrows contract. Trade , Swap , Escrow ADA/Tokens/NFTs with a fixed fee. Public mainnet imminent...

@hix_coffeepool Reads like standard lobbying to me, you have a governance poll and so you have campaigners. He is campaigning for his party just like any other political pundit. You don't agree with the campaign or party you can vote against it or abstain.. No need for sadness..

I felt deep sadness reading Charles's post this morning. Singling out "Japanese DReps" as a group is fundamentally at odds with the principles of decentralized governance that Cardano has aimed to build. No votes are cast by each DRep based on their own evaluation criteria, regardless of geography, and the reasoning behind each vote is publicly available. This governance model is itself a product of IO Research. I have been an ADA holder since 2018, part of the community that has loved Cardano's vision as a future-oriented, principled blockchain, and supported it patiently over the years. Catalyst and the current governance system were implemented as outputs of IO Research, but in their current form, they cannot be said to function adequately as mechanisms that maximize holder value. They are at a stage where redesign is needed, but I see no significant movement toward that. Framing support or opposition to specific proposals as a matter of "loyalty to the community" or "continuation of research" has a chilling effect on governance. What is needed is not personal attacks on DReps who voted No, or appeals to geographic communities, but constructive discussion of the proposal content itself. Each DRep's No vote rationale should be reviewed, and the budget and effectiveness of the proposal should be debated on its merits.

Breaking my twitter hiatus to clarify something about my vibe-node bounty: Since I'm trying to stay off twitter, and twitter tends to send things to message requests anyway, if you'd like to claim the bounty, please send an email to my first name at sundae.fi, with the subject line "Vibe-node bounty claim" and a link to the git repository. I had the first official submission, and I missed it because of this. So, once I confirm they actually intended for me to evaluate it as a serious submission, I will report back whether they successfully claimed the bounty.

@blocksmithy @jon_deppie The credit market of non-margin-call loans make sense but the wrapped BTC part is still a bit murky. If you have wrapped BTC say from WAN chain, why not just redeem it for ADA back through WAN chain, what is the advantage of the atomic swap if you're already trusting wrapped btc?

Pogun is a non-custodial credit market on Cardano, with a trust-minimized BTC bridge and an atomic swap layer for moving between wrapped BTC on Cardano and native BTC on Bitcoin. It is not a DEX, and there is no direct USDM-to-BTC swap inside the protocol. That would be a trade. Two paths get someone from USDM on Cardano to native BTC on Bitcoin. They are different in kind. The first is a swap path that goes outside Pogun. Use a Cardano DEX to swap USDM for wrapped BTC, then use Pogun's trustless atomic swap layer to convert that wrapped BTC into native BTC on Bitcoin. The DEX handles the USDM-to-wrapped step. Pogun handles the wrapped-to-native step. The second is a credit path that stays inside Pogun. The credit market accepts any Cardano native token as collateral, including USDM. A user can borrow wrapped BTC against their USDM, then atomic-swap that wrapped BTC to native BTC. But this is a loan, not a trade. The USDM stays locked as collateral, and the user owes the loan back. Pogun can help you end up holding native BTC starting from USDM, but as a loan position or by using a DEX for the asset conversion. The protocol does not exchange one asset for another at market price, that is what a DEX like @MinswapDEX does.

A trustless live atomic swap on mainnet, between wanBTC on Cardano and native $BTC on Bitcoin. No bridge in the path, no oracle, no third party. Two transactions on two chains bound by adaptor signatures: either both legs settle or neither does. The atomic swap layer works with any wrapped $BTC representation. @wanchain_org @pogun_io

@blocksmithy @jon_deppie Im still a little confused here with the reply - for clarity - can I use pogun to go from USDM - BTC or any native asset for that matter?

That is what it is. There is nothing else involved. Two users, cryptographic signatures. That is all. If you refer to the fact that wanBTC was bridged before, you are right. A trust model where BTC bridges to another chain anchored in Bitcoin's consensus alone, with no federation or other trust assumption, is currently only possible via BitVM bridges. Once bridged that way, the asset is a trust-minimized representation of Bitcoin on the destination chain. The atomic swaps in this demo are 100% atomic regardless of which wrapping was used to get the asset onto Cardano. If you use a federated or multisig bridge, you are trusting that bridge for the wrapping step. The trustless atomic swap itself is the same.

There's plenty ideas out of Daedalus Turbo that could be leveraged. For example, in GenesisMode, we have a checkpoints file with various known-good points along the chain. In theory, we could sync each of those chunks in parallel and ensure that each chunk meets successfully with the others. This would be more of a cardano-node enhancement though. Many of the daedalus turbo enhancements would need implementing at the node level.

You may have started seeing some posts from these guys. We're the new maintainers of the daedalus wallet and 8.0.0 is our first release which adds mithril support for fast bootstrap. If you are an spo and still not running a mithril signer, it is time to get involved. Mithril is critical infrastructure as cardano integrates more outside of its pond. It's the same team as dripdropz plus some members, minus some others. Doxed team is below.

@mattpiz Run a node without a stake-pool/block producer, the loss of staking rewards, time and hassle is not worth it when stake is so sticky. I plan to change nodes onto amaru/dingo as soon as block producers are viable to reduce cloud hosting costs..

If it was safe, easy, and costing less than a netflix subscription to run yourself a #Cardano stake pool, would you do it by conviction even if ada drops to 5 cents? Or are you in for the gains only?

I’m not the only Cardano holder waiting for useful DeFi to be created. There is significant untapped demand already in Cardano. We just have to unlock it with the right DeFi. I’m even willing to accept a clunky UX. Just give me the features!!
$cerkoryn | dRep@Cerkoryn

@__fallen_icarus Same. Problem is I don't really want exposure to memecoins, Impermanent Loss, poor capital efficiency, hyperinflationary governance/DAO tokens, or risky speculative loans. Which rules out basically everything we have. Especially compared to the risk-free rate of staking ADA.
