Data centers don’t consume water. They are mostly closed loop systems like your vehicle’s radiator. Water circulates through the servers removing heat. The water flows through “radiators” to transfer heat to the air and then circulates back through the servers. Arizona’s problem is plain old population growth. I lived in Phoenix in the early 80’s as a kid. I lived on 86th Ave. and Indian School Road. It was the edge of town. The edge of town is now many miles past where it was back then. We used to go water skiing on Lake Powell. It’s probably 30-40’ lower now than it was then. Not because of data centers but because of huge population growth. Ever see Phoenix from the air? Countless swimming pools. We had one too.
