NEW POST Conversations with AI are ephemeral, decisions made early lose attention as the conversation continues, and disappear entirely with a new session. @techygarg explains how to externalize the decision context into a living document. martinfowler.com/articles/reduc…

Force your coding agent to use typed errors, so you can better prevent slop before it enters production. You say, "John, my agent doesn't want to use typed errors, because it's lazy." I say, show your agents who is boss! 😜

The first version of the article on Effect Systems in #Scala had some criticism and comments. We learned from them and tried to review the content to express better the differences among functional and imperative programming, direct-style, and a future-like approach. Here is the new version: rockthejvm.com/articles/the-e… As usual, thanks to @rockthejvm for the opportunity 🙏

@paakittadnya Eat Batatavada not pav. Removing pav make it much better as it has better ratio of carb fat protein than vadapav. Potato is better carb than pav

Vadapav in itself is one of the most nutritionally horrible food. Its combination with Chai is a Molotov Cocktail for your body. Every time you try this combo, you are erasing a couple of days from your life. You can curse me, troll me, call me names but the truth remains.

Only a month left until @scalarconf! The agenda's there, the afterparty is planned - now you just need to get a ticket :) Affordable as always, in the center of #Warsaw, easily reachable by plane, train, bus, car (by bike and on foot as well ;) ). scalar-conf.com #Scala

In an LLM there are multiple attention modules, each designed to discover connections between words in a sentence. There are query, key and value matrices to extract the relevant information, which are learned during training. That's a great idea, and an insightful design, but ... how do we know that in a trained LLM the attention modules are REALLY doing what they were designed for? How do we know that they don't, in fact, do something completely different with the data, completely bypassing our intention? We can probe the initial transformer layers, and see which neurons activate there. But further down the line, is that in any way interpretable? I suppose, there might be a much better design that the network learns to emulate, but how to discover it ...

Most Mumbaikars are polyglot! They speak Marathi Hindi Gujrati English bit if Urdu and a totally new language where sentence is formed using all this languages. I learnt Gujrati in Mumbai. I Find similar thing in Bengaluru as well where ppl mix Kannada Tamil Telugu and English. ( most cabbies speak Tamil there) Bengaluru taught me bit of Tamil but I knew Kannada since childhood.

Seeing people say "coding is solved" when I'm fully rewriting a couple weeks of work with Claude Code is a bittersweet thing. I love the tech and it was a good way to explore what needs to be implemented but the reality is that we're still..... so far

@OpenAI shipped 1M lines of production code with zero manually-written code. 3 engineers. 5 months. 3.5 PRs per person per day. So what did the humans actually do? They built the harness. I tried the same, a hands-on implementation path, it really came out absolutely fantastic. I have created a practical guide for Staff/Principal engineers - playbook, metrics, and shaped by real implementation. LINK: vitthalmirji.com/2026/02/build-… #SoftwareEngineering #AI

Side-effect handling is a pain point in every functional programming language. In #Scala, we can choose between different approaches. Everyone has pros and cons. Let's see what an Effect System is, what is currently available, and what the difference is between monadic (Cats Effect, ZIO, Kyo) and direct style (#YAES and Ox). No prior bias, I promise 😇
