Tons of promotions in the scouting world, but one especially stands out. The Los Angeles Dodgers promoted National Crosschecker Rob St. Julien to Assistant Director… responsible for the likes of Dustin May, Connor Wong and Justin Wrobleski among others.

The Mets have added Dicky Lovelady to their active roster

Victor Robles catch breakdown, as promised. You might want to sit down for this one. This play had a 80% catch probability according to Statcast. A couple important notes... 1) Hopefully Victor is already on the road to recovery and won't miss too much time. 2) Unbelievable effort and finish to this catch, one of the best I've ever seen. Robles put his body on the line for his team, and he made what will rightly be a candidate for catch of the year. 3) Statcast DOES consider boundaries. How, and how accurately? I don't know. Happy to hear more from those who do. 4) There is plenty of additional context worth considering here, like the net, and I encourage you to do that however you like, even if you want to throw this one on the scrap heap. That said, why the high catch probability? The poor jump. His -8.3 jump means he's getting a much later start on this ball than other outfielders. What does that mean at the catch point? Others don't have to go flying into the net like that (to me, that takes nothing away from the fact that he did). More video and stats in comments:
