@alicksimmons So there's some rustling, a regular breath sound and some background noise. I'm thinking we're snuggled up in a communal den and resting. I agree that it's most likely a mustelid. Somerset range is questionable but heck: It is the gorgeous polecat?

On the rare occasions when there’s sunshine, adult walruses spend A LOT of time snoozing on the beach at Togiak National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska. After a few hours with very little to photograph as the walruses daydreamed, I figured I may as well relax too, if only for a photo.

A very interesting angle! There's much to be said for qualitative data. This certainly matches personal experiences of coming across the signs of beavers. They make the wild seem wilder and more alive. They aren't just a key rewilding species: They are an icon. A harbinger.
