@MHackman @WSJ I was watching Anderson Cooper. I like your reporting but you need to ditch the constant giggles. It’s quite irritating. What is so funny about Kristi Noeme firing her pilot because she forgot her blanket? Why do you think that is funny? Makes you look unserious.

@PnPCBC @MarySchiavo I was disappointed with your initial response to the El Paso incident. You accepted the explanations without skepticism. You of all people are aware of what happened with the plane crash in DC and the flying public knew the story we were initially told could not be true.

.@MarySchiavo said Canada should be asking to go along every step of the way in the investigation into the crash of flight 752. “They should be able to see what is occurring, watch the downloads, have a copy of the data as soon as possible…”

I’ve been ringing the alarm since last year about the expiration of tax credits that many Alaskans have relied on to afford their healthcare. As I see it, we have no choice but to modify and extend these tax credits to get us some time to find a permanent solution to this pressing problem. I hope my colleagues join me in the coming weeks and months in rising to the challenge of finding both short-term and long-term solutions to healthcare affordability in America.

@whosafraidofhim @SkylineReport @donwinslow @SenAngusKing Yeah. I can agree with that. I also think the thing that makes us democrats is that preventable suffering is hard for us to take. The Rs know this and use it. That’s why Trump was going all in to stop SNAP and letting air travel get more and more unsafe. A tragedy to blame on us

Today I again voted to re-open the government, resume vital services for Maine people, put people back to work, feed the hungry and secure an opportunity to avoid a harmful hike in health care costs.

@SkylineReport @donwinslow @SenAngusKing I hear you. I do. But I think this gives the Republican senate too much credit. What evidence do you have that they would ever concede? They don’t care. I can tell you as a precinct leader who talks to voters daily, exactly 0 Rs know the ACA was the sticking point in the CR. ZERO

Yes, Republican Senators would have had no choice but to concede defeat. Trump’s attempt to block SNAP had just been stayed by the appellate court, and SCOTUS was just waiting for that outcome. Seventy-nine percent of SNAP growth since 2010 occurred in counties that voted for Trump. Most ACA enrollees are in red states. The pressure was far greater on GOP Senators to make a deal. Instead, some Democratic Senators handed Trump and the GOP a win before events could play out. It was utter capitulation. Air travel should have been shut down until this was resolved. Keeping it running while those workers went unpaid was a recipe for disaster. Keeping it open was a GOP decision — and anything that happened would have been on their call, their watch, and their culpability.

@SenAngusKing You’re a fool. Democrats had the Republicans where they wanted them with all the recent wins and you non-strategically threw it all away. You are a turncoat and a coward. Your continued blathering is infuriating.

I have consistently voted against shutting down the government because I know the pain it is causing working families, from TSA agents to government contractors. We must extend the ACA enhanced premium tax credits, but that can’t come at the expense of the millions of Americans across our country impacted by a shutdown. With the government open, we can focus on passing a full, bipartisan budget for 2026. That starts with a minibus that will restore funding President Trump cut, deliver millions of dollars in critical funding to Nevada, and block the Administration from future RIFs. We also have an opportunity now to put Republicans on the record on the ACA. If Republicans want to join us in lowering costs for working families, they have the chance to do so. And if they do not come to the table, they will own the premium increases they cause.

@SenTimKaine It's the right thing to do. Punishing your constituents until the other side cries "Uncle" is not a proper negotiation tactic.
