New World should have stayed a "Rust-like" with swords and magic. Like the original design intent. Especially with Twitch Rivals and Twitch integration. More of a different, social gaming experience. The combat and mechanics didn't suit a traditional MMO. Never liked the pivot.

@mookah_f @ParallelTCG No, I don't think so. Nerf it. Also, I may have not been clear in my original post so my apologies. I'm not against nerfs in general, I just don't like severe nerfs where the intent seems to be "we've seen this card played way too much, we don't want to see this played anymore."

@whosprof @ParallelTCG Got it so you're still in favor of doing deck limitations. I can't promise you we'll do it but it's something I can take inside and we think more on. For overtuned legendaries should we ban them?

A designer's thoughts on @ParallelTCG I look practically everywhere for feedback and critiques when it comes to the game and ecosystem. Wherever it's posted I probably see it. I want whoever's reading this to know that internally everyone I work with and regularly interact with is heads-down making improvements. The vibes aren't off and we have the same amount of focus and resilience as we've always had. We are looking at improvements in pretty much every level of our ecosystem. UI, UX, Web3 layer, Ladder rewards, features, new card sets.. it's all being talked about through the lens of improvement. From the inside it does NOT feel remotely true that Parallel is leaving anytime soon. We are probably more in a rebuilding phase if I had to put a label on it. On the development side we're still within our first "sprint" from Nicole's blog, and we've been able to even add on to it which is remarkable and a testament to the talent here at the studio. I can't wait to ship all of this (it won't take till next year) and move on to the next set of focuses. If you feel like your opinion isn't heard or read, it is. If you don't believe me I'm personally a DM away and would welcome any feedback or critiques as we continue to get Parallel where it needs to be.

@mookah_f @ParallelTCG Thanks for sharing those thoughts. I'm always drawn to the standard/main format for TCGs so maybe wild's not for me. I do think no non-legendary card limit would be more intuitive for deck building in wild than relearning all nerfed cards. If 1x and 2x limits existed in standard.

This is actually a super interesting discussion that we've had before. On one-hand NFTs kind of emulate paper TCGs in that people buy a card based on power level or collectability. On the other hand our game is digital and it feels awkward to tell a new user hey this card is banned or limited due to power level. They would just say your game is digital just balance it. I don't know what the answer is, just that we're operating under the lens that the game did before people like Veen and I were hired. Should that change, maybe? I can also mention we have thought about doing a wild format in the future where nerfed cards show up in their original state and the buffed cards show up in their best state. Is that something that intrigues you or no? I don't have an answer for you now but I appreciate you raising the point.
