@mkadnk @DerekPederson3 i think a one-time cull of several billion animals is a lot better than an eternal cycle of torture and slaughter for trillions tbh

There it is. I wasn't sure if you would admit it. There is nothing moral or ethical about this argument, PETA kills significantly more animals than it saves. All the farms I have seen have been completely ethical. You are advocating for slaughtering millions of animals and then not even using the land they were on. Killing the animals is the easiest part of your proposition.

Most of them should be euthanized humanely. Yes that’s far more ethical than perpetuating a system of animal torture. I’m not against killing animals for food. I’m against the horrific lives that they lead.

@DerekPederson3 What are these "moral" people going to do with the vast herds of animals breed for a purpose and cared for by farmers? Also, what are we going to do with the land that is suitable for pasture, but unable to be cultivated?

Many leftists think of capitalism as some kind of external non-market force. They go and buy bacon that came from a happy pig frolicking on a picture book farm, meanwhile some billionaire crams 1000s of hogs in tiny pens to satisfy his weird fetish and there’s no way to stop him.

@Th3wrrd3n if you dont want to believe this i’ll give you another example: trans men are allowed to compete in olympic sports as men but trans women are not allowed to compete in olympic sports as womne

@Th3wrrd3n in certain contexts one party can have an advantage over the other. for example,

@whpnl And therefore due to the fact each party has different issues that come from their varying levels of social visibility, and each party faces oppression specific to their own identity then neither are better positioned unless we add external conditions such as being stealth, yes?

@Th3wrrd3n do you not think trans women face forms of oppression unique to them

funny how easily they (correctly!) see that trans men face specific challenges and yet they cant accept that the same is true for trans women

I suspect NYC is old enough, rich enough, great enough by now to be immortal. Not immune to rise and fall, but immortal all the same. The great cities outlast their empires: Damascus, Paris, London, Baghdad, Beijing. Save for the true end, there will always be a New York City.

@transgendererer @captgouda24 probably pretty quickly. the earliest pants-wearers were probably mounted pastoralists rather than warriors, so women were definitely wearing (and peeing) pants soon after their invention

How long did it take after the invention of pants did it take to develop the notion of "peeing yourself"? I assume with a skirt etc you just instinctually squatted.. And underwear presumably drastically later development

ironic that trans men responded to blue lady’s claim that trans men leverage their agab in attacks on trans women by doing exactly that. she’s been completely vindicated by the campaign against her
Sadie@SadieLiath

@Isla_Island_ not in a worse way, just in a way that only trans men can (leveraging their agab against ours)
