@MentisWave How broadly are we defining ‘Fed’? I’m trying to figure out if destroying the federal reserve would be more devastating than the mass inflation. ‘Course “Everyone” implies this is global so that would be worse if we localize to each countries dollar.

@MelbaofNM I learned this in etiquette class ages ago: You use both hands! Your diagonal hand (should be right) will clasp her hand sideways as if in a normal handshake, and your other hand gently rests on top. You don’t shake, but gently squeeze and release.

Idea: a JRPG where you're a mage who learns lame/bizarre spells. So instead of a fireball, you learn a spell for heating up pancakes. But then you realize you can throw a pancake at an enemy and then heat it up to 1000 degrees to do a fire attack.

@ankkala I wouldn’t be surprised if both turn out highly stable. Blue might have tendencies towards gullibility, but those who would take advantage would vote red. Red would be more resistant to that issue. High levels of pragmatism and compassion sound completely workable to me.

@TheDonStein wrt the smaller congregations: At those I’ve attended, they have a high % of shut-ins. There also tends to be some people on the books who left and never let anyone know. It’s hard to keep up to date when you don’t have enough staff.

@eigenrobot -the church fathers disagreed at points (cf Norma Normata). Perhaps unsurprisingly, when he was gone for a brief period several decided he didn’t go far enough, and broke his church (in more ways than one). This hasn’t changed much
