@Shpigford Mint really wanted “att mobile” to become a “t mobile” vendor charge at one point for me, no matter what I tried. It used to annoy me, now it is more of a game to see what charge randomly becomes a “restaurant”.

The use case here is we're making a little tool to help train a model to properly pull the merchant name out of transactions. GPT is actually pretty solid at this on its own, but there are still a lot of situations that need human intervention. Was trying to obfuscate PII for a public-facing tool to basically outsource some of the training. But starting to think it'll be too risky.

Can anyone think of clever ways to obfuscate names from bank transactions? Have tried a bunch of GPT-based solutions, but it's too inconsistent to be a real solution.

When I see visualizations like this, I ponder what comes next? It’s interesting to see an incumbent like Hotmail fall after such a long time to Gmail. There was plenty of time to respond.
