@sciencevs I also see how as a science writer, you see the worst parts of public misinterpretation and consequences - so your opinion on the topic make sense. But I think you should have the discussion.

@sciencevs I enjoyed the show, but think that on the core issue of pre-print publication and the engagement of the messy scientific process with a general audience, the producers didn't give perspective to both sides.

A science brawl has erupted over the Netflix documentary “Unknown: Cave of Bones," as some experts argue that the film’s extraordinary claims aren’t backed up by extraordinary evidence. We dig in ... 👇👇👇 open.spotify.com/episode/4x1rNp…

@sciencevs It was clear at the end, when you asked Lee if he felt he had made a mistake, that he had a strong and ideologically based perspective about engaging the public in the scientific process. That is a legitimate and arguable position.

For the first time since 2018, @GOSHCommunity - a home for open science hardware - is coming back together (with strong COVID protocols!), this time in Panama. Sharing a few of my favorite pics (CC0) from previous gatherings as we welcome people from across the world once again.

@oursci will be running a session on SoilStack which supports the process of geolocated field-based sampling from start to finish... Uses a derivative of quick carbons stratification process. Hoping to brainstorm other uses outside soil and get community feedback
