Do Newcastle have better players?
I'm taking Brobbey over their strikers any day. I'm taking Alderate over Burn, Mukiele over Livramento. I'm definitely taking Roefs over either of their keepers. Midfield pretty comparable. Ballard at least comparable to their best CB.
Newcastle's squad is better and they have some brilliant players, but man for man on both their best days, I'm not seeing much in it at all.

The annoying thing is on paper we do have better players than Sunderland. So why havent we beaten them in the league since 2012 ? Simple Sunderland played like a team who wanted to win. Newcastle on the other hand played as 11 individuals who in the 2nd half didnt look arsed.

@shanehagan24 Not quite. We had to sell to stay afloat. So that 90m spent before isnt quite 90m spent. Also it was a failed team. It got relegated.

@martynwebster6 I agree a draw was a fair result on the balance of play. It’s just frustrating when it happens week in, week out with absolutely zero accountability.

@widger123 That's the main one for me but just felt the ref allowed the game to become scrappy and lost control at times.The penalty shout for you was nailed on for me and was very relieved (and amazed) that VAR cleared it.Still think a draw was a reasonably fair result. Great away support

@martynwebster6 Obviously I’m looking at it through sunderland tinted glasses, but what decisions do you think went against you?
The roefs one was iffy but the minute your lad puts his arm on roefs it’s gonna be the keeper that gets protected.
Apart from that I don’t remember another?

@widger123 There were some very strange decisions last Saturday. Think the ref Gillet was equally as bad for both teams but he has never been great. 🍒
