Well, because most services (Netflix, Google, Meta, etc) all support IPv6. Way easier on routers than routing Tb/s of NAT traffic.

@lanceeihoda @stubarea51 @WavesNg @BiolaAkinyemi_ I am not excited about IPv6. NAT is really not a problem. They are painting it bad but it saved the internet. IPv6 has its advantages but NAT is king. The way we've designed our network, IPv6 may or may not play any roles.

In the last few weeks, #MikroTik has expanded their documentation on EVPN. It's encouraging to see they are testing the ROSv7 implementation against #Arista EOS to verify interoperability.

I have a timelapse of the construction of my house. This is spread out over hundreds of small video files. Would anybody be interested in compiling them into a proper timelapse of the build? I don't have the time and tools to do this properly.

Writing some #Java code for @CloudStack again. First steps to implement a #DNS provider which supports managing Authoritative DNS. @powerdns is one of the drivers which will be there on launch. Will take me a couple of weeks to get a first working version though.

This is great! After enabling DANE and DNSSEC you can now score 100% on the @internet_nl e-mail test. I've forwarded this great blogpost to our IT-department and requested them to enable this for our corporate domains.

@widodh @netflix I just add the 8.8.8.8 ip to my local dns.

I tried blocking Google’s 8.8.8.8 for a while at my home, without succes. Many applications like @Netflix have this DNS hardcoded into their app. Unblocking 8.8.8.8 resolved many weird issues I was experiencing. I would really like apps to respect my local DNS, but they do not :(

@B0NSke @netflix Yes. Just noticed that my @RainBirdCorp irrigation system does the same. 8.8.8.8 hardcoded in their controller. No idea if it has a fallback.

@widodh @netflix True, its hardcoded in allot IoT devices too. a very bad trend.
