Just shameful that the US is not sharing the burden in the greatest fight for freedom of our lifetimes. Canada is now a more consequential leader of the free world than the US. Hope this changes in the future.

Today, we announced $270 million of new military support to Ukraine. Ukraine’s fight is our fight. Their cause — freedom, democracy, sovereignty — is our cause. Good to see President @ZelenskyyUa today in Yerevan. 🇨🇦🇺🇦

@KnowingBetterYT Thats false. Not every public school student takes college entrance exams. Less than 1/4 of states require them and most of those states are smaller red states.

@cwebbonline If we are going to create black voting districts, can we create cities and towns that are just 1 particular race?

THIS WAS ALWAYS THE PLAN Gut the Voting Rights Act… then move fast to erase majority-Black districts across the South. 📌 Louisiana, about 1 in 3 people are Black 📌 Mississippi, about 2 in 5 people are Black 📌 North Carolina, about 1 in 5 people are Black 📌 Tennessee, about 1 in 6 people are Black All aimed at wiping out Black representation.

@DemocraticWins Sherrod Brown is 73 years old and what most would call a career politician. He served at the state level starting in 1975. He served in Congress from 1993-2025. We don't need an old career politician.

@sam_d_1995 Florida's new map would put them on equal footing with California's current map (4 Dems out of 28 versus 7 Pubs out of 52 in CA) and certainly more fair than Virginia;s new map.

just a reminder that Florida voters passed a constitutional amendment banning gerrymandering with 62% of the vote… but republicans packed the courts and ignored it. By contrast retaliatory gerrymanders in CA & VA passed with approval of voters! both sides are not the same!

Over 90% of black voters in Virginia voted for Abigail Spanberger. Protecting black political power is about protecting the ability of black people to have a say in who wins elections, not about making black candidates (who aren't supported by the community) win.

@CameronCorduroy Over 60% of public teachers have masters degrees? Why? Not because they are more intelligent, its because they can take online courses and get 30% raises. My sister teaches first grade and has her masters. IT doesn't make her smarter or "more educated".

@JessicaTarlov NY already had their gerrymandering effort thrown out by a court. Illinois has 3 republicans, CA has 7, MD has 1, etc. Texas has 13 Dems, FL 7. Might wanna think before you speak.

‘F around and find out’ is still the Democrats’ position on redistricting and is even more so our position after the SCOTUS ruling. Hakeem Jeffries is talking about a scenario when Illinois, Maryland, Colorado, and New York are totally blue. We could get 52 seats in California. Democrats support a national gerrymandering ban. Republicans would be wise to support it before this gets even uglier.

AOC: We have to all abide by the same rules. And so if Republicans are going to redraw North Carolina, if they're going to redraw Texas, if they're going to redraw and gerrymander every one of their states, then unfortunately, we have to provide balance to that until we get to the day where we can all finally agree to put this behind us and pass nonpartisan gerrymandering federally.

Has anyone, with access to all the proper data, redrawn Congressional District maps in every state using vertical and horizontal lines? In other words, create equally populated districts with no reference to anything other than a grid pattern? What’s the result?

@DrOBrienMD OK, you are wrong. The court simply said you can't violate the law and use race as the primary factor in drawing congressional districts.

@inezalbright2 I am aware of 3. The guy that shot at the WH did so because of laws against legal MJ. The 2 ricin letter were sent to Obama (and others) in attempts to frame other individuals and get them in trouble. None of the attempts were made due to political leanings.

@isaiahrmartin Its not close to what they said. They simply said you can't use race to determine how district lines are drawn. Thats the essence of section 2 of the VRA.

According to this new Supreme Court ruling, total blue states like Colorado can draw an 8-0 blue map, Illinois a 17-0 blue map, and California a 52-0 blue map. Time to respond accordingly to this new conservative threat and give Republicans exactly what they asked for.

If Republicans aggressively gerrymander the South and eliminate up to 10 Democratic seats under a narrowed VRA, Democrats could respond in blue states. For example, this 52-0 California map could become legal, flipping four seats from 🔴 to 🔵.
