@wiki_aday

Years of scouring the internet, led me to some of the weirdest Wikipedia articles and lore about the infamous site, so I might as well share it with you.

In 1936, a Japanese ambassador gifted Adolf Hitler a custom made kimono. On November 25, 1936, N*zi Germany and Imperial Japan signed the Anti-Comintern Pact, a formal alliance. To mark the occasion, a custom kimono was presented to Hitler as a diplomatic gift, reportedly embroidered with both the Swastika and traditional Japanese symbols. The pact was publicly framed as opposition to communist expansion. In reality it was the beginning of an axis that would eventually drag the world into global war. The image above is not an actual photo of Hitler wearing the robe, it’s an ink painting portrait created by Japanese artist Hayashi Tōbun to commemorate the Japan-Germany Anti-Comintern Pact.
