If the wait on impeachment is for Trump to actually shoot someone on 5th Ave, that was really a metaphor for the GOP standing by and watching him murder "liberty and justice for all." Proceed with every protection of our democracy. The psychopath will burn it down regardless.

Many in the GOP now actively oppose American democracy.

Since Trump followers can't fully support equality, they can't support a democracy that counts all citizens’ votes equally. In their minds, any election where “others” win must be rigged, because in their minds, only their votes should count. "Other" votes *must be* illegal.

I’d challenge that you may be mischaracterizing one important nuance here, which will be misconstrued by people who want to rationalize their feelings: vaccines may not prevent long-haul symptoms in *breakthrough* cases, but that’s a subset.
