It’s kind of wild that Postgres still has no real concept of password rotation. What would “good” look like? • Add a new primary password while the old becomes secondary (with TTL) • Visibility into which secondary creds are still being used (Can be used for Alerts) • Auto-expiry only if unused for N hours (no breaking active clients) Basically: make rotations safe by default instead of an outage risk.
