@BasedDeckDept 2013 Commander deck. Prossh, Skyraider of Kher was the face commander, with Shattergang Brothers and Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper as alternatives. My first purchase when getting into EDH. Bought my brother the Bant one so we could go to the newly forming scene in our area way back.

@nestapendragon Objectively though, the best way to LEARN the game is through a 1v1 format with a friend first, then transition to EDH if desired. It's how I taught my teenage daughter and she has progressed far smoother than anyone I've met that jumped straight into EDH.

People always say "Don't learn magic by playing commander!" and then give a million good reasons why you shouldn't. And they're wrong, sorry! I would not have stuck with magic if all my first experiences were sweaty 1v1 games. The gathering (with 3 friends) is what drew me.

@nestapendragon Im hoping to see more lands as creatures and related. But I also want to see the reserve list nuked from orbit. Fetching for duals and low sodium duals is boring. Give me lands that activate in the graveyard. Enchant land synergy. Give us a reason to play 50+ lands. Or only 20.

@nestapendragon Magic would be infinitely better if it had Flesh and Bloods pitch resource system instead of lands. Or a variant there of. In commander, you’d see more of your deck per game. Mana screw/flood would never happen.

Video games are seen as a lesser medium. They don't see the value in playing the game, piecing together the story, solving puzzles, mastering the gameplay loop, etc. They're OK with secondhand lore because novels are art. They respect the game's story but video games aren't art.

@cody_delonge @animegirl3773 Let's keep the examples to art please. Video games are unique as an art form because engaging with the medium, and therefore the fan base, requires at minimum, interaction with said medium. A concert is not even the main way to engage with a band's art.

@AlderDSBlue Every hobby has barriers to entry, and a lot of the time this includes economical hurdles. I would never fault anyone for finding ways to mitigate those barriers, but they still exist. And if you lack the means or the will to fully engage with the hobby, then thems the breaks.

@KENNYMOMOJ @j4varii I read both runs though, and they did feel different enough that I could tell they were wrote by different people. Same as you can tell that MCU Thor changed direction after Dark World and became Waititi's project. I'd say even those are 2 different versions of the character.
