IRAN’S $7.8B CRYPTO MACHINE EXPOSED Iran isn’t just experimenting with crypto -- it has quietly built a $7.8B parallel financial system to work around sanctions and the dollar. Here’s the reality. Back in 2019, Iran legalized #Bitcoin mining and gave licensed operators access to subsidized electricity. The deal was simple: mine BTC cheaply, then sell it to the central bank, which can use it to settle trade outside the traditional banking system. At times, Iran has accounted for an estimated 2-5% of global hash power. That’s not small. Chainalysis data also shows wallets linked to the IRGC drove over $3B in inflows during 2025, highlighting how deeply crypto is now embedded in the country’s financial plumbing. Meanwhile, everyday Iranians are using $BTC and stablecoins for a very different reason -- survival. With the rial down more than 96% vs the dollar, crypto has become a financial lifeline during economic stress and unrest. ⚠️ The new wildcard is geopolitical. Recent military strikes are putting Iran’s power grid at risk -- and large-scale mining depends heavily on cheap, stable energy. If infrastructure takes sustained damage, Iran’s hash contribution could dip in the short term. But zoom out -- Bitcoin doesn’t rely on any single country. If Iran’s miners go offline, the network simply adjusts and hash moves elsewhere. The real takeaway is that crypto is no longer just an investment narrative. I have completely changed the way I manage my finances in the last 9 months. I used to track all of my assets on a spreadsheet, including public stocks, private investments, fund investments, real estate, cars, collectibles, etc. I promised myself that I would update the spreadsheet once per week, but it became really time-consuming so I probably did it only once per month. I was always frustrated by this approach because the spreadsheet wasn’t dynamic or real-time. It also didn’t allow me to glean any substantial insights outside of the value of my assets and my total net worth. Eventually I realized there was a better way. I began uploading aspects of my financial life to general purpose LLMs and asking specific questions around identifying risk in my portfolio, making more money, better estate planing, or lowering my tax rate. I was shocked at how good the insights were. Literally superhuman intelligence being applied to my personal financial situation. The difficulty with this approach was that I had to constantly re-upload my details every time I wanted to ask the LLM questions. Kicked off 2026 with a fun trip to Costa Rica with my BFF of almost 40 years. We surfed, went diving, fished, hiked, ran some 5ks and explored the Pacific coast for a week and it was a great time in beautiful tropical weather. Came home to an ice storm this week in NC. PURA VIDAAAAA!!! 🏄‍♂️🌴☀️

@HHorsley It’s a gift to long term investors. Buying from the weak hands, just DCA, accumulate and chill.

Right now crypto is consolidating. What does that mean? In essence, it means high conviction investors are buying assets from lower conviction investors. One person sees BTC at $88k or SOL at $133 and says, "I want out." Another person sees $88k or $133 and says, "I have so much conviction, I'll buy it from you — I'm happy to have that be my cost basis." And the lower it goes, the happier the new holders will be. Which is good — you want happy holders. When the consolidation has played through, you wind up with a refreshed, higher conviction ownership base. And that's the benefit of consolidation.
