More before and after of the house I posted yesterday...here's the back facade. From moldy siding and dinky porches to a giant deck for the homeowners and a private screened deck for the tenants! Homeowners have direct access to the rear yard, while tenants have a private outdoor space in the side yard. Homes like these in the Boston area were purpose-built as owner-occupied with rental unit, 100+ years ago! Current owners of houses like these are happy for the additional income to offset construction costs, while the refurbished rental units continue to provide much-needed housing.
