Given Chelsea's financial situation, the long-term butterfly effect from one solitary Rosenior team decision in March could change the fortunes of the club quite dramatically for years to come: chelsea.news/2026/04/crazy-…

@CFCCentral3 i think that was cucurella's message. enzo's message was "come and get me." i just think you're being a little generous in painting enzo as something of a martyr for the cause when his actions were patently more selfish than that

@willfaulks Two players have offered two sides of the same coin imo. The message is constant player/manager turnover, lack of ambition in trophies/winning/proven pedigree could push some real winners out. Not everyone will wait.

Yeah, over time it really dawned on me how a good English vocabulary is really useful learning other European languages. There are more words you already know which you can “tag” the new ones on to. Even if they’re not derived they’ll be related, or at least have an easy mnemonic. Then the ones that are totally dissimilar to ANYTHING in French/English/Latin/Spanish you’re seen before end up standing out and being memorable for that very reason (and they’re usually basque)

I keep seeing words which are essentially English (or close enough) just hispanicised. "encuentras" - what the hell could that mean? it's "finds" but then more literally I assume, "encounters". which is basically the same word. sonido is sound (because it's sonic).

am having a go at reading a book in Spanish with this app that lets you highlight and translate words, I'm getting pretty good at Latin nouns and there are some weird connections you don't expect (garganta = throat = gargle!) but there are so many nightmare verb conjugations.

You can't just say "I want to protect my players" then say you lost because of individual mistakes and lapses of concentration. Just like you can't say "the huddle wasn't my idea" then say you take the blame for it.

Has Andrey gone from a rising star of the season to bottom of the midfield pecking order just because he messed up the marking at one corner?

Chelsea have conceded a goal so bad it's hard to actually work out what the mistake is. You can't see the trees for the wood.

The ball boy who Pedro Neto pushed last night obviously deserved an apology, which Neto gave both to him and on air in an interview afterwards. But he didn’t deserve Neto’s shirt, which he also gave him. Made such a meal of the shove from Neto. Football increasingly a sport that, on the pitch, off the pitch, and now by the side of the pitch, rewards people for deliberately overreacting. What do you tell the grandkids? “I got shoved by Pedro Neto, and after rolling on the floor for ages I got his shirt.”

@Statford_Bridge This is what's painful about supporting a team that keeps changing manager too. We had to watch coach after coach figure out that Kepa is bad, now we're watching Rosenior learn about Sanchez/Jorgensen what we all learned 18 months ago.

I genuinely think Rosenior just thinks he’s better, I really don’t think this is a sporting director thing.

It seems a very odd moment to take a stand on Sanchez, after one bad game. It's not like Jorgensen is pushing hard for a start. It means changes in goal, defence, midfield and attack, throwing stability out of the window for a roll of the dice.
