@willfleming I was going to yell at you for camping in the left lane, but then saw you were from NZ. 😂
English

Tonight, on a long-ass five-hour work drive, I truly realised the power of FSD.
Tired and listening to a podcast, a car around a corner had broken down and suddenly appeared but before I could take over, FSD glided around the car and we continued on…
In my spike of adrenaline, I pushed save clip and lived to share another day.
Maybe on a full ‘tank’ I’d have been quick enough to do the same manoeuvre, but this was literally at the end of my day and I was pretty low energy. Phew for FSD.

@willfleming I would say that probably 99% of the people that crap on FSD videos have no idea what it’s like to experience things in real life versus what the fish-eye shows.
We know better.
English

@Sandiyarrr You were not there - I was. Felt pretty f’n sudden to me.
English

@willfleming I’m a fan of FSD myself, but this is in no way ‘Suddenly appearing’. Hazard lights on, etc. If you couldn’t do that maneuver in your sleep, hand back your license.
English

@willfleming And the camera never does it justice. These things come at you much faster than a fisheye lens can show.
English

@ceconrad @mark_adam What the fuck you guys talking about? Cult going a bit far. Can’t we share good stuff when it happens? Bloody hell.
English

@mark_adam @willfleming I mean, I love my Tesla and I think FSD V14 is amazing, but yes, the cultish promotion is getting to be a bit much for me too. Many years past when autonomy was promised, FSD still requires supervision, and they ask people to pay $100 a month for it, which is outrageous to me.
English

@cactusglen0404 @Tesla_AI @TeslaAUNZ @Tesla @elonmusk Yes a little but it’s probably also becuase we missed all the small iterative updates that the US ect had. They learned to walk while we’ve (DU) gone from crawling to running.
English

Anyone feel like a crash test dummy using v14.3.3 DU ? Feel like I part of an experiment rather than enjoying FSD. @Tesla_AI @TeslaAUNZ @Tesla @elonmusk
English

@13arm13arm @Tesla @TeslaAUNZ @Tesla_AI @aelluswamy Agreed. Kind of stuffed if it missed a sign as you rightly said - happens often. Good call here.
English

Hey @Tesla @TeslaAUNZ @Tesla_AI @aelluswamy,
My wife is a regular human, and not some Tesla simp/freak/fan/enthusiast like myself. She cannot understand why you got rid of the adjustable max speed setting with FSD V14. Adjusting profiles does not work if the car misses or misreads a speed sign, which happens frequently. Please fix this
English

@boulderfish Nope. Not here in New Zealand. We wait until the person flicks to the sign to go.
English

@willfleming You weren't supposed to proceed after stopping there?
English

@DevinOlsenn - maybe a test you could run in a vid? Stop/go worker not holding the sign and not looking at me. I think our FSD down under just thought it’s a dude standing next to a fixed stop sign and carried on. Thoughts?
English

@OhItsTeddy Yes on reflection it probably did. I guess I just expected FSD - which is correct - to not have continued but it’s an edge case as the road worker was not holding the stop sign and not looking at me. Something for tesla to look at.
English

@willfleming It stopped and there was no traffic so it went. Seems like it read the sign just fine
English

@DevinOlsenn Smaller market here in New Zealand but I try to look at everyone on a Tesla but no one looks back haha. Can’t wait to share a ‘hands up’ moment 😂
English

FSD V14 is catching on
I just passed a car on the highway and we made eye contact with each-other and both lifted our hands up to show we weren’t driving, and had a quick laugh.
A few minutes later a different Tesla passed me and the guy was very clearly using FSD and looked relaxed as he drove by.
It’s honestly so great seeing more people use this tech.
Curious how often y’all see people using FSD when you’re out driving

English

@stepmoel No longer than a minute. Dude turned the sign and I drove on - manually.
English

@willfleming I think I would have tried to continue myself on that road after stopping, the road is clear of traffic or construction.
How long did you have to wait?
English

@jasondfarris So smart it drove when it wasn’t supposed to. What ever.
English

@willfleming No it means it’s smarter than you have given it credit for. Can tell the difference between guy holding a sign and signaling you intentionally and a guy just standing by the sign.
English

@willfleming Interesting. Please do make sure that you share this with Telsa.
English

@willfleming when it does embarrassing stuff. I just look away. Then they know it’s not you
English

@JASONHA17381011 Yeah I was expecting it to not drive on. Just sharing an experience I had here that’s all.
English

@willfleming What are you expecting? This is what it’s SUPPOSED to do at a stop sign. It just doesn’t expect this situation.
This isn’t a case of the sign being improperly recognized, it’s just not programmed to treat it differently if a guy is holding it.
English

@alfhaus Not complaining rather just sharing what happened. Shit mate - plenty of things I could complain about…
English

@willfleming so when it gave you a prompt asking why you intervened you of course gave an answer to help it learn so we could all be safer or just complain on x
English

@Jaynonymously So… the car went to drive when it wasn’t supposed to. That’s all.
English

@willfleming Typically stop signs indicate the need to stop and look for traffic and if clear proceed. That’s what’s supposed to happen. It didn’t discern a regular stop sign from a stop sign with construction dude 🤷🏻♂️
So?
