@freeloader2021 Yup. At least it a small step forward I guess. Will see if I can notice any changes during my FSD drive tomorrow.
English

@willfleming Yeah, Sucks ha.
I had the same experience yesterday morning.

Same boat as you mate. Nearly did it while it was available here in nz but in the end - I can’t transfer it and it dies when the car dies. Plus, I’m hoping that as this topic gets more popular with FSD unsupervised - that this will push down the cost because going much higher might price people out of the game. Just my thoughts pal…

After much thought, I have asked Tesla to remove the $10,100 FSD option from my Model Y L invoice.
Everyone is going to have a different opinion on this, but ultimately for me (as I'm about to take delivery next week) I can't justify the extra cost, even as someone that uses FSD every day (and loves it). The subscription option just suits us better, even if the price goes up.
I may regret dropping the opportunity to have one of the last FSD-optioned cars. But selling more Tesla stock also doesn't sit well with me. Time will tell.

So many great points here. Yes, here in New Zealand, we are on an old v13 “down under” software, but in saying that, I am on the road most days and there is heaps of traffic and silly Kiwi drivers. FSD is exactly what I thought it would be - to be in control without having to make every decision to not kill myself or someone else. It has been great for me and my business ambitions to arrive to important meetings and network events feeling fresh and ready. It is really a work buddy for me. I call my Model 3, T.O.O.L 😂

After experiencing life with a Self-Driving car daily, it seriously changes your life in so many ways.
This comes from someone who loves to drive. Heck, I bought possibly the best-handling Tesla there is: the Model 3 Performance.
But 90% of the time I’m either stuck in traffic or commuting somewhere that doesn’t require me to be so engaged. Don’t get me wrong, it’s amazing to have the choice to drive manually, it’s one of the best driving cars out there, but most of the time, sitting back and having my car drive me around so smoothly is just incredible.
It’s something you need to feel for yourself to truly understand.

@CockertonPaul - was on the roads today and FSD kept trying to pull back to 100km even though the speed limit was 110km. Was strange becuase later in the drive FSD would randomly speed up. Maybe v14 will sort it out…
English

@DevinOlsenn Great milestone. Most can’t make it that far. I see the effort put in and the time. A cool archive you’re creating as well - imagine your family going back and watching these old vids when we do hit FDS unsupervised. It will be cool.

Last night I passed 9,000 subscribers on YouTube, which feels like a huge number since it is so close to 10k.
For those of you here who have chosen to subscribe to me already on YouTube I really appreciate it. If there's anyone here who enjoys my content and hasn't yet subscribed I would really appreciate it if you did.
I work very hard to make my content as enjoyable and high quality as possible, but if there's anything you'd like to see from me or any comments/critiques please let me know!
Cheers

@CockertonPaul Can see it was thinking. Mine was similar but I’m pretty sure it would have made a meal of it. Wish I had the presence of mind to save the clip. Maybe I should take my car back and recording it. Actually I might…
English

@willfleming I had one issue with wrong lane selection (see video), but noting unsafe. It drove the windy roads out near Mangawhai on the east coast in the dark, through mist like a boss
English

@CockertonPaul Oh cool. That’s great news. My FSD nearly drove me into a road divider today while I was out East Auckland. But it was on a new road layout and maybe I have begun to trust it too much.
English

@willfleming Just returned from a trip ‘up north’ and found that FSD held the speed far better on the motorway that previously. Very little need to foot squeeze. I wonder if there are minor background updates?
English

An middle aged lady figured out that there was no driver in the Tesla Robotaxi, put on her brakes to slow down, and then proceeded to go all around the Robotaxi. If I could describe the look on her face to y'all. It was not excitement. It wasn't even anger. It was a combination of trying to figure out what her eyes were seeing, some cognitive dissonance being pulled from her amygdala to make her feel better and that this Robotaxi really doesn't exist nor does it work, and ultimately a look of "I'm going home and changing my medications". It was funny as hell! 😂
English

@CockertonPaul Well this is pretty cool. Something to look forward to I guess which can be tough to say in this modern world. Thanks mate.
English

@willfleming I hope so! A very geeky friend says that ‘they’ have been uploading a heap of data from the cars recently and expects v14 in a month or two. I think he also said that a couple of months ago too 🤔😬😂
English

@LJMBAU Seems to happen to me here in New Zealand. Also, on the same bits of roads that I drive. Weird.
English

@CockertonPaul Ok great. Thanks for the insights - appreciate it. Think v14.3.1 will fix this? (if we ever get it 😂)
English

@willfleming It’s a real frustration on the motorway. I’ve found that if you are in traffic, or following someone, it holds the speed better, but yes, it requires regular ‘foot squeeze’

We’re heading the open road today in New Zealand, driving on the Waikato express highway.
Here in New Zealand we’re on v13.2.9, yes we’re on old software down under.
The goal of this video is to test this version of the software app on the open roads – the main difference on this highway is that the speed limit is 110 km/h which is different to most other roads here in New Zealand which makes out at 100 km/h.
Here are my impressions, thoughts as we look forward to the new software here locally.
I’ve also got a few thoughts if you’re a person thinking of buying a Tesla on why I think even if we didn’t get any software updates this is still a fantastic option for most situations.
For context, this is a 2025 Tesla model 3.
English

@RobGrieves @LJMBAU She’s happy I’m happy. But, she jumped in the hot seat the other day - and was very impressed. To be fair, not that impressed as she’s had FSD for 20 years - me!

English

@LJMBAU Mine has no problem with me using it but has no interest in using it herself
English

💯hands up guys - who’s wife approves of FSD?
A.R.M@13arm13arm
@youtubeTeamJG @LJMBAU The only true test is has to pass is the wife test

Taking v13.2.9 out for a spin in Auckland, New Zealand on a reasonably busy Saturday.
We join the motorway in Karaka (South Auckland) and use FSD with a mission to get to Kelly Tarlton's with as few interventions as possible.
I had to intervene a coupe of times:
1. Staying in the middle lane too long (for my liking) before turning off the motorway.
2. Not moving at a big and gnarly roundabout. It just froze 😂
Overall - this “old” version of FSD performed outstanding. Image what v.14.3.1 will bring.
