Last night, a woman behind me came over pre kick off and said 'I've just captured a video of you and your son. Can I send it to you?' I gave her my email and I think it might just be my favourite video ever. @wembleystadium

Every football club on earth exists because of this island. 🇬🇧 Kings banned it. The richest schools in England claimed it. They wrote the rules and locked the gates. Then the working class stole it back. In 1850, Parliament passed the Factory Act. Work stopped at two on a Saturday. Working men had free time. And they chose football. Churches formed clubs to keep men out of pubs: Aston Villa, Bolton, Everton. Factories formed teams from their own workers: West Ham from the Thames Ironworks, Arsenal from a munitions factory. The FA Cup Final. Blackburn Olympic: weavers, spinners, a plumber. They beat the Old Etonians 2-1. No private school team ever reached the final again. Then British workers carried it everywhere they went ⚽🌍 Scottish miners in Spain founded its oldest club. A Nottingham lace trader gave Juventus their black and white stripes. A butcher's son from the same city founded AC Milan. British railway workers in Uruguay named their team after Stephenson's Rocket. Cornish miners founded Mexico's first football club. A schoolteacher from Kent taught the game to his students in Argentina. His school produced Lionel Messi. A boy from Southampton brought two footballs to Brazil. They call him the father of Brazilian football. Real Madrid are said to wear white because of an English amateur team. From Lancashire cotton mills to every continent on earth. Three and a half billion people watch football. The most popular sport ever created. And it was created here. By the British people. Every Saturday, three o'clock. That kickoff time exists because of the Factory Act of 1850. The moment working men were given an afternoon off. They chose football. And the world followed. No owners. No sponsors. Just supporters. Be part of us. 👉 proudofus.co.uk/support 🙏 Be Proud Of Us. 🇬🇧

Football Supporters' Association statement on World Cup prices: The prices set for the 2026 World Cup are scandalous, a step too far for many supporters who passionately and loyally follow their national sides at home and abroad. Everything we feared about the direction in which FIFA wants to take the game was confirmed - Gianni Infantino only sees supporter loyalty as something to be exploited for profit. Prices for England's matches have been set as some of the highest, priced at $7020 if you want to follow the team from start through to the final. If you are "lucky" enough to reserve the cheapest ticket for the final you'll need to hand over $4185, approximately £3200 - that's £35 per minute of the game. FIFA call this the “Supporter Value” category - that's a laughable insult to your average fan. Supporters are expected to hand over all of this money in February to FIFA, who will keep it in their bank account to accrue interest. If England are knocked out before the final they'll then return it, minus an admin fee of course. They are beyond shameless. This is a tournament that is supposed to be celebrated by the world, where fans of all nations come together for the love of football. FIFA have decided to make it all about the money and the elite who can afford it. For FIFA, loyalty is not the hard-working fan travelling thousands of miles in support of their team at qualifiers around the continent. A game that should be for all is now only for those who can afford it. ACTION NEEDED We back Football Supporters Europe in calling for a halt in ticket sales and we are calling on the Football Association to work with fellow FAs to directly challenge these disgraceful prices. We call on all national associations to stand up for your supporters, without whom there would be no professional game. The most loyal fans feel they have been stabbed in the back. Those same fans, their passion, their colours, their noise will be missing in America, Mexico and Canada, unless significant price reductions are introduced. Supporters who have looked forward to this tournament for years, supporters who have been to multiple World Cups, supporters who were excited about this being their first tournament will all be missing as it will be unaffordable. Who needs to follow England away for disappointment when FIFA can deliver that six months before a ball is kicked? The life has been sucked out of this tournament before it starts.

@CityGroundShelf And through it all, we’ll play the way we want to, with Big Ange Postecoglou, whether we’re right or wrong. It’s Big Ange Ball, Garibaldi reds with you, Europa dreams may come true, in Istanbul, year 1 not 2… I’m loving Big Ange instead. #nffc

I really respect how Nottingham Forest football club never let us get carried away. Happy about the opening day performance and a fantastic transfer window? We're going to sack the manager. Thanks lads, I was starting to get bored of being a proper club anyway. #NFFC

Dear @TalkCPFC & @HLTCO - #NFFC fan here coming to you in peace. I, like many other Forest fans were made up for #CPFC winning the Cup and doing a number on one of the so called ‘big 6’ who seem to operate under different rules to the rest of us. In the same way you can’t control who invests money and holds shares in your club and when they read their emails, I/we (Forest fans collectively) similarly can’t control who our ownership decides to do transfer dealings with, or who they choose to write letters to and about what. So us all being at loggerheads is pointless. IF it transpires after your CAS appeal that, (as it currently appears is the case), Parish & Co dropped the ball on this MCO rules situation, and that prevents you guys from being permitted to play in the Europa League, then that is genuinely unfortunate for all associated with your club. For what it’s worth, the rules seem somewhat farcical in that by the time the Europa League kicks off in earnest, as I understand it, Textor won’t be involved with either Palace or Lyon, so we ABSOLUTELY get your frustrations in that regard. I think almost all of us would agree that gaining entry to elite competitions should be based on sporting merit rather than administrative upkeep. However, as we all know (particularly at Forest from our own recent experiences), football is, unfortunately, no longer as simple as that. What I think narks us a little bit is that we (not as fans) but as a club seem to be being used as a scapegoat by your Chairman for his/his ownership group’s administrative failings. Say what you like about our owner (he has pretty thick skin by all accounts so I’m sure he’ll not mind too much), but the steps he took regarding his shares in Forest and the blind trust business and when he did or didn’t do it, was absolutely nothing to do with Palace and their participation (or not) in any competition. It is widely known that extensions could be sought on this arbitrary March 1st deadline for making the necessary arrangements to comply with MCO rules. He chose to do that, Parish didn’t. To suggest you/Parish ‘broke the rules’ and we didn’t is I think unfair and inaccurate. It’s obvious that Palace have not deliberately sought to gain any advantage from their lack of action. The simple truth is that Parish & Co fell asleep at the wheel and have seemingly veered off the road to Europa as a result. We, by chance, just happened to be in the car behind you. That is all. Wishing you all the very best for the season ahead. Whichever European competition you end up in. I know for certain that we’ll have a ball regardless!

@CityGroundShelf Shef United at home bigger IMO, dread to think where we might be now if we’d have lost that semi. Just look at our neighbours down the road almost back in League one for a 2nd time since losing their play off game against Villa in 2019

Hot topic about whether Sunday is the biggest game at the CG this century. I think the prize and the inroads it gives the club for long term sustained success is as big as it could be. Not sure it’s as shit or bust as previous games though.

9/10. Forget what 20 year old influencers tell you with their " we should be, we've bottled it, Nuno's subs " bollocks, none and I mean none of them understand the demands of a season, nevermind a run in in what is the world's toughest last 8 games in any sport. A 20 goal striker ( good luck Woody, hope he gets 23), a style of play that deliberately found tactical weakness in most of the division, rapid counter attacking pace and overall very good recruitment alongside European qualification is what it is, exceptional. The fact that any Forest supporter looks at a glass half empty when this season will only fill the glass in seasons to come probably shows how many have been used to tier 2 or 3 mentality alongside playing too much FIFA rather than looking at cold, hard, facts. A great season, the end. And if anyone tells you otherwise, point them my way. Because I know the expectation in reality at that club.
