@ArnieTTR @hantsfanpodcast Agreed and the excuses of, we are a smaller county won’t fly. We have to international games and, a diversified income and overseas investment. I have more irritation at the board than the players tbf but players just seem to have sloppy shoulders bar Abbott and few others

@william_frome @hantsfanpodcast Squad building has been abysmal - remember this point last year where we basically had a bunch of very senior pros 34+ and a bunch of raw kids under 24 and not much inbetween - also we lack ‘options’ with the ball - Warks, Som, Sussex etc sometimes have 7/8 per first XI

4 defeats out of 5 already which is how many Hampshire lost in 2024 and 2025 seasons combined. Losing a bad habit.

@hantsfanpodcast It’s just the odd squad planning… we have 1 medium/fast pace all rounder… who’s 36! That’s bonkers. We have one registered keep whose 37 Our bowling line up is held together by a 38/37 year old pace and spinner with 3/4 ultimately very talented but balsawood pace bowlers

@william_frome Indeed and don’t blame the club for backing them. We all want it to work especially when they are brought up by the club.

@hantsfanpodcast You just question th point and players. I love some of these players and given great times but some you have to question if good enough to be playing regularly for Hampshire.

@william_frome Those trips feel like a massive waste of time and money. Coach arriving only a week before the season and not being on those trips could be why we find ourselves where we are now.

@hantscricket Think time for White and Domingo to start considering changes or packing there bags. Domingo hasn’t had much time but White needs to be held to account for poor squad planning, over reliance on big T20 and overseas signings and not enough regular county players

@YahoooverCC A very talented squad has stalled and multiple youngsters have failed to kick on. Theres also the question of too many players being kept with not enough ruthless edge. When was the last time we made a big county signing.. Brown?? That’s pretty poor

Time for Giles White to go at Hants. As DOC he has overseen a decline from Championship contenders to relegation favourites. Failed in succession planning for what has been an ageing squad for a good 2 or 3 seasons.

@hawkhampshire I mean… you gotta question the players and the coaches… it’s not just close losses… it’s thrashings.. They are senior players with multiple years under their belts who apparently practiced all winter but half of them look like they haven’t seen a red ball since last year!

Baker has been great, stone man was cover for Vince We are missing a few established players being added to the squad. we need to lose a few senior players who aren’t adding much

@william_frome @hantscricket The past few seasons who have we signed asides overseas? 2023 - Benny Howell 2024 - Ali Orr 2025 - Sonny Baker + Mark Stoneman 2026 - Jake Lehman Love we try to integrate academy players…… if they are able to reach the standard. But we’ve had issues for a while now.

@Hampshire2XI @hantscricket But Hampshire board are what’s really letting the team down, seems to be no logic or strategy in who we sign whether it be coaches or players. We didn’t sign a single domestic player this year bar Neal, who we already had and was a minor county player. That’s pretty appalling

@Hampshire2XI @hantscricket Think what’s depressing is that this isn’t a young inexperienced team anymore, these guys have seasons under their belts and yet keep failing. Our batting is as fragile as it’s ever been and the over reliance on Abbott and Dawson for wickets is shocking.
