Worst Boyfriend Ever
Worst Boyfriend Ever@TwinkBukowski·
Out of school I got a job at an ad agency. I wanted to be a copywriter but I didn't have the confidence to ask. So instead I was a "Media Services Associate" which amounted to one year of pretending to work on Google Ads and convincing distracted clients that whatever we're doing was working. One year later I was fired, because I obviously didn't give a shit and couldn't pretend well-enough for my managers to keep me on the payroll. I remember HR girlboss Nicole Tang broke the news to me one morning on an impromptu Zoom call and I smiled so wide, knowing I was free. And I had 6 months of severance pay. I didn't tell my girlfriend I was fired because I thought it would make her love me less. Instead I drove 14 hours East from Seattle to Pocatello Idaho to attend a 12 day silent meditation retreat called Vipassana. I was the youngest person there. The first day was orientation and the next 10 days were silence and the last day was for talking again. It was on that last day that I first told anyone in reality, that I wanted to be a writer. Or, more concretely, that the way I wanted to make a living was by writing and selling books. It's a hard thing to say, because of how it sounds. So I spent the next 6 months collecting unemployment, not trying to find another job, just writing, writing, writing, writing, journal entries that would eventually become Worst Boyfriend Ever.

which makes sense. networking itself the commands on a cisco device are very simple. it's many other elements that make it hard to replace a network engineer completely. but i guess i interpreted the parent tweet to say a little differently. i think it's an already easily automated field.

@ifipls @williambowwow @sec_hub93028 The connectivity in this sense does not matter if there is fiber or if it is traditional Eth. As long as there is connectivity and you show the end to end, perhaps even hop by hop and as long as the underlying connectivity is there, the commands are known.

They made facebook accounts for 800+ fake doctors (I had Claude verify, none of them are actually doctors, especially not "Dr. Tuckr Carlzyn MD") to advertise on Facebook. This is extremely illegal, just takes FTC to notice it and it'll be hard for them to advertise on FB

cool- but I don’t understand it. There are 100s of GLP factories that prescribe GLP’s after a few Q’s Medvi’s flow is particularly bad. I assume margins would have been competed away Hims did $2.35B of revenue with 2k employees. This 2 person co in the space is doing $1.8B?
Sar Haribhakti@sarthakgh

.@eringriffith: "His start-up, Medvi, a telehealth provider of GLP-1 weight-loss drugs, got 300 customers in its first month. In its second month, it gained 1,000 more. In 2025, Medvi’s first full year in business, the company generated $401 million in sales. Mr. Gallagher then hired his only employee, his younger brother, Elliot. This year, they are on track to do $1.8 billion in sales." nytimes.com/2026/04/02/tec…

My neighbor just got laid off after 22 years in government IT and cybersecurity. I told him the same thing I'd tell anyone with deep technical knowledge: Go into sales. Specifically, cybersecurity sales. Here's why: The government paid him probably $250 to protect their systems. The private sector will pay him $250K to $400K+ to sell the tools that do it. Same brain. Different seat. Triple the upside. Enterprise cybersecurity sales reps have a median OTE of $275,000. Top performers clear $600,000 a year. Most salespeople sell what they don't understand. He'd be selling what he spent two decades mastering.

male distance runners are known for having significantly lower than average testosterone levels Research has ALSO shown that endurance cyclists and runners, but not swimmers, have significantly lower testosterone levels than sedentary controls It also goes without saying that your body will look quite weak and frail if you train mainly for endurance.

I don’t believe in holding commercial real estate long-term. Doing so means you are relying on two things to happen in order to get appreciation: Interest rates going down, or rents going up I don’t have control of either. “Buy and hold” made many people look very smart, when what really happened was interest rates went down for basically 40 years straight. We can very easily see rates flat for the next 10 years - nobody has any idea. If that happens, you can’t make real money unless you: Find opportunity, use your skill and experience to create value, and bank the profit.

Good strawman of what I said - and there's obviously disadvantages to wealth taxes like capital flight, punishing productive members of society for meritless spending. While some billionaires just borrow against stock they own to avoid taxes, or some can't sell without tanking people's 401ks (liquidity crisis), there are individuals with a billion in the bank (not the majority of paper billionaires). The thing is - they don't have many other options than America if the tax hammer comes down, other Western countries will go down the same socialist path. A bit like how income taxes are now the norm.

@williambowwow @unusual_whales Keep doubling down on your fundamental misunderstanding of how wealth works. Again, billionaires don’t have a vault with a swimming pool full of gold coins that they swim in wearing old timey bathing suits.

Senator Elizabeth Warren and more than four dozen Democratic lawmakers are renewing their push for a federal wealth tax aimed at ultra-high-net-worth households, reintroducing legislation that would apply annual levies to fortunes above $50 million. The proposal, the Ultra-Millionaire Tax Act of 2026, would impose a 2% annual tax on the net worth of households and trusts over $50 million, plus an additional 1% surtax on net worth above $1 billion, for a 3% top rate on billionaire wealth. The bill also includes a proposed 40% “exit tax” on people worth more than $50 million who renounce US citizenship, along with new IRS funding and other enforcement measures.

The Rockefellers are still around for example and they own luxury properties in Yellowstone Henry's Fork, Jackson Hole etc, not the richest but own a lot. Gavin Newsom got money for his business from the Getty descendants. The Rothchilds are pretty wealthy. Obviously the wealth gets eclipsed by new money like Musk.

@williambowwow @unusual_whales There’s no such thing as generational wealth. The Vanderbilt Decline: Within 30 years of the "Commodore's" death, no Vanderbilt was among the richest Americans, and by 1973, many branches of the family had lost the massive wealth accumulated during the Gilded Age.

I never said, and of the ones I'm mentioning with hundreds of billions (Waltons, Bezos) they do have billions in cash they aren't real estate developers with hundreds of billions in debt. The Rockefellers are still rich. This is the kind of level of wealth that could last forever.

@williambowwow @unusual_whales You seem to think, wrongly, that wealthy billionaires have billions of dollars in cash just sitting around. Their net worth is in the companies they've built, the value the market place sees it and their personal stake. It's not a Scrooge McDuck pool of dubloons.

all the freaks losing it over this UwU Underground ai group and claiming cloudflare suddenly is "pro rape" for removing these people from a small corpo party at an event sure are missing the forest for the trees. At events like this, you must get consent to hand things out. They don't know you, you don't know anyone there and RESEALABLE PACKAGES are more of a red flag than anything else. 9 out of 10 times, it is fine however. just ask. that is the whole thing about your fear mongering drink panty topper, yea? you're doing some performative marketing with a product that performative women will die on the hill for and you get to make aggressive yet completely unrelated "conclusions". Do not politician me when asking why you did not seek consent. You're so concerned about your performance, you forgot about your own? Marketing like this is shit, and the useful idiots not critically thinking are honest to god the worst. The women saying "oh so theyre pro rape" -- you worthless rock sucker- this was an unplanned handout. you're telling me you need unplanned handouts to leave your house? If you're so concerned about getting drugged that an unplanned hand out causes this reaction, either dont leave your home or just don't get a drink. it's super easy to go to events and not drink.

@MadamSavvy @squishycat152 @Cloudflare The team handed them to several other parties before hand, zero problems at any other location Could have asked us to stop handing out, could have asked us to remove the branding. There were people putting cards and other actual products/brands on the public space tables too
