@drdlascano Good insight. Clarification of inclusion criteria would be useful. Somewhere between eCPR and P/F ratio of 90. Pretty sick...

@williamlpatrick I would want to see if they truly exhausted all measure before ECMO though including paralyzing and proning , and advances setting like APRV. Do you know if ECMO was done as a rescue or after failure from conventional vent or after the aforementioned techniques?

#COVID #ECMO_COVID Japan interim data on 32 cases. 67% weaned off successfully! longest course on ECMO 21 days, shortest 9 days.

Very interesting take homes from an excellent webinar from Japan. Hypercoagulable state, timeline of patient deterioration , longer ECMO increases risk to personnel through plasma leak and need further circuit change being high, and no prone prior to ECMO to safeguard personnel !

@AspiringCTS @JasonHanMD @STS_CTsurgery @ctsnetorg @JessicaLuc1 @williamlpatrick With nearly 50% survival rate and the lack of resources like blood , heparin, antibiotics , CT surgeons to run circuits , ICU nurses, RT , anesthesiologists , etc. I think we need to ask really hard whether we can afford to do it. I do not know . Maybe in areas less effected.

What cannulation strategy do you guys prefer for DeBekay II dissection with aberrant right subclavian? Have seen two of these this week and am curious what others are doing.
