@benmoores2 Fort Worden, USA. Built 1898-1920 to guard the entrance to Puget Sound. The concrete gun emplacements and bunkers are interesting enough but they are open for exploration in a Pacific NW forest that is slowly taking over. Photos mine

the concept of the earliest human language development is so fascinating to me. it feels equally unthinkable that all human languages developed from one proto-world, as that language developed multiple times independently. i can't wrap my brain around it
