A decent overview by @CNBC on the situation for @TeslaCharging today. I sincerely wish the remaining and re-joining team the best of luck in seeing through execution on the NACS contracts and opening up the rest of the network. youtu.be/gXPRCnPJYbY?si…

@ChristoSilvia @Tesla @elonmusk Not dead, thankfully since J3400 has already taken up the torch. But further improvements to standards and engagements across the industry will suffer.

Confirmed - @Tesla @elonmusk has let our entire charging org go. What this means for the charging network, NACS, and all the exciting work we were doing across the industry, I don't yet know. What a wild ride it has been.

But also what a unique opportunity for the industry to capitalize on the newly available talent and expertise in the space. If Tesla is yielding the charging crown, who will step up?

@electricfelix @rohanspatel @Tesla You don't need a membership at all to charge, just to get discounted rates for your other EV(s). Tesla vehicles get the discounted rate by default, and for any other EVs associated with your account, you need one membership today for discounted charging.

@rohanspatel @Tesla Afraid this statement is incorrect since the membership seems to apply only to the vehicle and NOT to the owner: why else would I need to sign up for seperate membership to charge (for example) my 2nd EV at a Supercharger..

It’s actually just over 16,000 stalls open to the rolling NACS autos (Ford, Rivian, and others soon). Additional ~11K are just for @Tesla customers - mostly V2 stalls. Multiple stations being added every week, and really our only limiting factor is utility interconnection which takes too damn long. If you buy a Tesla you’re automatically given a free @TeslaCharging membership, which gives you 30% cheaper supercharging costs than non-Tesla vehicles.
Teslavangelist@teslavangelist

@SawyerMerritt If Rivian and other non-teslas only have access to V3/V4 superchargers, they definitely don't have access to 15,000 supercharger stalls. What is the real number? @rohanspatel

Super excited for this. We’ll begin shipping free NACS adapters to Rivian owners in April and compatible Tesla Superchargers will show up in Rivian navigation when you plan a trip. Charging will be “plug and charge” with automatic billing – no app required
Rivian@Rivian

Fast charger access just doubled. Rivian vehicles can now tap into 15,000+ Tesla Superchargers — rapidly expanding the fast charging experience for our customers. Initially, a NACS DC adapter is needed for access, shipping free to owners starting this spring. rivn.co/Supercharger

It's pretty wild to see non-Tesla EVs on Tesla's own website. I like it. Accelerate the transition to electric vehicles.

The unsung heroes of the Supercharger network opening - the @TeslaCharging technicians that have spent the last ~6 months visiting all ~20k+ V3 stalls and doing a relatively complex retrofit adding a new comm board to support NACS/CCS communication and more accurate metering.

Here's a comparison of the old indicator icons (left) and the new indicator icons (right). PARK, BRAKE, and ABS have been updated. This is the result of a voluntary OTA recall/update the @NHTSAgov will announce soon. More info from @Teslascope at twitter.com/teslascope/sta…
