My son went to vocational school while in high school. The move to vocational school showed immediately on my son. Not only was he learning a skill (diesel mechanics) he became more confident, more mature and had goals for a future with skill he was learning. Every so often he had to go back to regular high school for tests, etc. Everytime he came home from his regular high school, he would say, the students at high school are so confused, they have no idea what they want to do and only talk about trends and class gossip. Trade school is the way to go in high school. Still get a high school diploma, a diploma from the vocational school, possibly college credits, in many cases a starting good paying job, and still have many opportunities to go to college as well. A solid win win solution for any student.

Earlier this month at @conexpoconagg I couldn't help but notice my face on the back of a bus. Unlike every other bus in Vegas, this was not a rolling advertisement for a magic act, a tattoo removal service, a gentleman's club, or a personal injury lawyer. This was The @aemadvisor Express, currently touring the USA in furtherance of AEM’s ongoing objective to elevate the business of making things.
This enormous vehicle, (along with my enormous head) is a love letter to all things made in the USA - a cause my own foundation has long supported. It's packed with all sorts of interactive activities and more importantly - evidence. Lots and lots of evidence that a career in the skilled trades is a career worth pursuing. The bus has already visited dozens of states and typically shows up wherever Americans are manufacturing the equipment we need to build the country. Its main purpose is to highlight the innovation, workforce and overall economic impact of manufacturing on all Americans, in conjunction with a campaign called “I Make America,” which I was flattered to help launch fifteen years ago in DC, (back when my hair was, apparently, a tad browner.)
Like my own efforts at mikeroweWORKS, the headlines have caught up to “I Make America,” and the overall success of this campaign is worth noting. Over the last 15 years, these guys have mobilized thousands of manufacturing workers through 500+ events, delivered 150,000+ advocacy messages to lawmakers, and facilitated countless pro-manufacturing policies, along with lots of infrastructure investment and workforce development by connecting grassroots advocates directly with elected officials.
In short, there’s no better megaphone for the 2.3 million men and women who benefit from pro-manufacturing policies, than the @IMakeAmerica campaign. And no better place for my own sizable cranium, than the back AEM Manufacturing Express, coming to a town near you. bit.ly/47ImSwE
Honk if you see me out there...
PS. Our scholarship program is in full swing. We've got $10 million set aside this year to help train the next generation of skilled workers. Go get some! mikeroweworks.org/scholarship/

Elon is more patriotic and focused on the United States of America and it's well-being than members of Congress and the Senate. We live in troubling times.

I would like to offer to pay the salaries of TSA personnel during this funding impasse that is negatively affecting the lives of so many Americans at airports throughout the country

This was written by a friend of my sons fiancé who works for TSA. The DEMOCRATS are bankrupting families, causing people to lose their homes, stop treatment and starve.
The Democrats hate America.
🚨 DAY 43 OF THE DEMOCRAT SHUTDOWN 🚨
Because while some people are sleeping peacefully and planning vacations…DHS workers are silently breaking and yes, I am one of them.
I’m tired.
I’m angry.
I’m embarrassed.
And mentally… I am NOT okay.
I wake up every single day to go to a job that would replace me in 60 seconds if I died today! Then my position would be posted before my family even finishes grieving. We’re replaceable…
What isn’t replaceable is the stress, the fear, the humiliation and the anxiety of not knowing how you’re going to make it another week.
While people keep saying “be strong” and “hang in there”… this is our 3rd Democrat shutdown within FOUR MONTHS!! Some of us didn’t recover from the last shutdown, some of us JUST got done taking out loans, some of us JUST got done borrowing, some of us JUST got done pushing back mortgage payments, car notes, credit cards, and everything else life requires and now we’re being forced to do it all over again! No savings, no backup plan, no extra money, no credit left, no more loans to take out, no more people to ask. Some of us are literally at $0.00.
And I’m so sick of this little “shutdown letter” to our creditors like that’s supposed to fix something. Unfortunately, that letter doesn’t pay rent, that letter doesn’t buy diapers, that letter doesn’t fill up a gas tank, that letter doesn’t stop the lights from being cut off, that letter doesn’t keep food in the fridge, that letter doesn’t stop late fees, that letter doesn’t stop repossessions, that letter doesn’t stop eviction notices! That letter means NOTHING when life is still billing you!
And please stop saying, “at least y’all will get back pay.” Back pay doesn’t help me right now! Back pay doesn’t help when the gas light is on TODAY. Back pay doesn’t help when rent is due TODAY. Back pay doesn’t help when kids need food TODAY. Back pay doesn’t help when I’m trying to figure out how I’m even getting to work TOMORROW. We cannot survive off promises.
And THE MENTAL TOLL this is taking? Because this isn’t just financial anymore. This is waking up every day with anxiety, crying in silence because you still have to get dressed and show up, smiling in passengers faces while your own life is falling apart behind the scenes, trying to be “professional” when you’re mentally exhausted, emotionally drained, and financially drowning all while not getting paid!!
Imagine giving 10+ years of your life to a job, some of us have given 20+ years. And now our ability to survive is being decided by people in suits who still get to go home, sleep peacefully, and collect THEIR checks while playing political games with OUR lives.
People are mentally exhausted, emotionally unstable, financially overwhelmed and still being forced to perform in high-stress environments like everything is normal.
And if Congress doesn’t make a decision in the next 2 weeks, they go on a “spring break recess” for another 2 weeks which means by the time they return this will push us to 60 days with no pay!! So while they go on vacation, they relax, they enjoy their families, they eat good and sleep peacefully. We’ll still be here trying to figure out how to survive, trying to figure out how to feed our families and trying to figure out how not to lose everything.
I’m not posting this for pity. I’m not posting this for sympathy. I’m posting this because too many people think federal workers are “fine” just because we’re still showing up.
WE ARE NOT FINE.
Some of us are one missed payment away from losing everything. Some of us are one more week away from a full breakdown.

"**Eye-Opening Reality — A Lesson for African Leaders**
Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad says:
In 2004, Malaysia purchased 8 F/A-18 Hornet fighter jets from the United States, which were among the most advanced aircraft at the time. The value of this deal exceeded $640 million.
After receiving the aircraft, Malaysia formed a team of experts and engineers to conduct a detailed study of their features and combat capabilities.
👈 The Malaysian experts discovered that the aircraft was transmitting every flight's information to a US military base, such as:
- Flight altitude
- Speed
- Location
- Route
- Mission details
- And the pilot's communication with the ground control room
Not only that, but the aircraft's operating system and autopilot feature could also be controlled from the US base. This means that if a US officer on the ground simply presses a button, the aircraft's route can be changed, it can be crashed, or even the target of its attack can be altered.
When Malaysia tried to modify the aircraft's operating system, the United States and manufacturer McDonnell Douglas strongly objected. They even threatened to stop supplying parts and maintenance, and impose restrictions.
Even when Malaysia requested specific parts to activate certain capabilities of the aircraft, the company rejected that as well.
Ultimately, Malaysia realized that it had bought aircraft that could not be used in actual combat without US approval.
This issue is not limited to Malaysia alone; many Arab and Muslim countries face the same reality.
**The lesson is clear:**
Until a nation develops its own defense technology, it will remain dependent on others."

This is a picture the Defense Department has never let the public see until now. This is a behind-the-scenes look at Dover Air Force Base where the bodies of fallen service members are prepared for burial. That includes being properly dressed, all the way down to the smallest detail.
In this picture, Staff Sgt. Miguel Deynes is making sure the uniform is just right for a U.S. Army pilot who was killed in Afghanistan.
There is a very specific process once a fallen service member is returned home. The bodies are flown back to the United States on a cargo jet. A team of service members wearing white gloves carry the flag-draped coffins to a white van that takes them to the Armed Forces Medical Examiner.
The remains are washed, hands are scrubbed clean, and hair is shampooed. If necessary, the bones are wired together and damaged tissue is reconstructed with flesh-toned wax. Sometimes, they will use photos. Sometimes, they just intuition to recreate the wrinkles in the faces and the lines around the mouth or the corner of the eyes.
“It has to look normal, like someone who is sleeping.”
Once the body is ready then the uniform is prepared. That includes putting medals in the proper order on the ribbon rack above the uniform’s breast pocket.
During the height of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan 10 to 20 bodies were arriving every day.
The embalmers often worked all night to get the bodies home on time. This can take an emotional toll on them, so the mortuary has a large gym to allow workers to blow off steam. Many say they are haunted by how young the fallen soldiers are and by how many of them leave behind small children. That’s why Sgt. Deynes says they are advised not to do research into the backgrounds of the soldiers.
“If I knew the story of every individual who went through here, I would probably be in a padded cell.”
The dress uniform being prepared in this particular case will be in a closed casket. Even so, it will be perfectly tailored, starched and pressed. Everything will be checked down to the last detail.
Sgt. Deynes says, “[The family is] not going to see it. I do it for myself. It’s more than an honor. It’s a blessing to dress that soldier for the last time.”
