Amazing chase in Iowa yesterday! Tracked a supercell from Waterloo to Manchester with multiple wall clouds and funnels, possibly a brief tornado or two. Later, we moved south and observed the full lifecycle of a rope tornado north of Wyoming. #iawx #weather 1/2

After this mornings convection, conditions are expected to heat up and dry out for the lower deserts through the weekend. Another busy day across Central AZ. Followed an OFB east of San Tan Valley all the way to Gila Bend. Winds weren’t too intense but it managed to pick up a fair amount of dust along the way. Dust is beginning to get picked up with the OFB East of San Tan Valley. It’s moving SW at approx 20-30 mph. Still diffuse for the moment as it heads into Florence. #azwx @NWSPhoenix

A marginal risk of severe weather is in place across SE AZ today. Gusty winds and locally heavy downbursts with T-Storms in the high terrain are likely. However, these storms may also produce strong outflows, so blowing dust is possible in the lower deserts. #azwx #MonsoonUpdate

As of 3:14 PM MST, Phoenix Sky Harbor has reached a new daily record high of 117°F. This breaks the previous record of 116°F set in 2023. #azwx
