@JohnHealey_MP Why have you taken £3 per day off UK personnel serving in Cyprus, which was for covering food expenses? Praise them for publicity while removing money from their pockets at the same time 👏 👏

Deeply saddened by the death of a French soldier and the wounding of French personnel in Iraq. My sincere condolences to the family, their comrades, and to our French allies. These incidents remind us of the dangers our forces face to keep us safe.

@JohnHealey_MP Yet the £3 per day extra paid to service personnel in Cyprus has been removed this month? Explain again how much you recognise our service people when you do this at this particular time?

I was on the ground in our British base in Cyprus yesterday. I saw how our British forces are working round the clock, in the face of repeated air raid sirens, to protect British lives and British interests. (1/2)

It was humbling to be in the chamber for Charlotte’s powerful speech, where she shared her experiences as a survivor. So brave. So authentic. So principled. Thank you, Charlotte 🙏

🚨 WATCH: Labour MP Charlotte Nichols reveals she was raped as an MP as she opposes the jury trial reforms "I waited 1,088 days to go to court. We've been told [by the Government] that if we have concerns about this Bill, it's because we've not been raped"

Italy are objectively the great story of this wonderful 6 nations championship, but that penalty for Italy at the end to seal the game, was one of the worst calls I can remember to decide a game for some time. I dont think its possible to be more in from the side. #ITAvENG

@afneil Israelis don’t pay premium prices for sub standard uk/Eu kit to preserve jobs. The uk buys shit because it helps an MP because it’s made in their constiuenncy. We are spending billions on shite Leonardo Helicopters to save a factory in Yeovil, rather than getting the best.

Seems to work well enough for Israel, which spends less on defence than we do but has much more formidable and effective armed forces. Nor are there any admirals leading armoured brigades. Or colonels manning subs. I’m advocating a BDF based on IDF structures and experience.
Nicholas Drummond@nicholadrummond

You are a fantastic commentator who invariably hits the nail on the head, but the idea of combining all three UK services into a single entity would not work. You would end up with admirals leading Armoured Brigades. And colonels manning submarines. Both a recipe for disaster. Defence has become much more technical since the end of the Cold War and we need specialists with focused expertise across naval, land, and air domains.

Keir Starmer has the wrong principles and the wrong priorities. We see it in his weak response to Iran. Even now, as our brave servicemen and women are under attack, Starmer is still dithering. Our allies are rightly furious. Read my thoughts in the Mail👇 dailymail.co.uk/debate/article…

@grantshapps It’s not red tape. It’s politicians feathering their nests by awarding contracts to UK companies who provide sub standard equipment rather than buying the best in class equipment available from abroad which costs less!!

While the new cars are slower and more complex to manage, other drivers like Lewis Hamilton have expressed optimism about the nimbler, lighter chassis. Verstappen’s "emotionally empty" stance is as much about Red Bull's sudden struggle to optimize the new power unit as it is about the "anti-racing" rules. If Max were on pole, the "management" aspect might feel like a rewarding challenge; because he’s at the back, it feels like a "Formula E" nightmare. It’s the ultimate "taking my ball and going home" moment from a driver who is already looking at the exit door.

🚨Max Verstappen: “I have no emotion. It’s completely empty.” Max Verstappen was once again critical of the new cars after qualifying. “I’m not enjoying it at all. But as I said, it doesn’t matter to me where I qualify. Whether that had been at the front or where I am now. In terms of emotion and feeling, it’s completely empty.” Asked if it is worse than in the simulator: “No, it already felt really bad back then too. To the point where you just don’t want to drive it anymore. I’ve already explained that.” Asked if he is prepared for it being a long year, Verstappen replied: “I’m already mentally preparing myself for that. I have no emotion. It’s completely empty.” Max about GT3: “At least I’ll enjoy that more. I already know that now.”

As I head to Harrogate for Spring Conference, a reminder of what a future @Conservatives government will do: 👉🏻 CUT your taxes. 👉🏻 ABOLISH Stamp Duty. 👉🏻 ABOLISH Business Rates for thousands of pubs and shops on high streets. 👉🏻 And deliver a big, bold offer for YOUNGER PEOPLE. All because of the decisions we have set out to live within our means and control public spending, especially the benefits bill.

@LeeHurstComic We buy shit equipment to keep jobs in the uk. Only politicians would make those decisions. Military people would buy the best kit available no matter where it’s made. After 24 years in the military I can say we have been lumbered with some utter shit to support uk industry
