@sheepyclarissa I've learned that some people aren't into or don't care about DPS loss or gains. They really do just want to mash buttons with cool animations which I think is fine. I don't think dailies should have any expectations

saw a sprout in a trial using doton on the boss like 6 times so at the end I said “oh btw you don’t use doton on single target :D” and they responded with “it’s a dot?”
I say “yeah it ends up being a dps loss if there’s only one target”
they say “it’s a boss.” and leave

@windbluelake @Linked2Games @Jun_on_Fire The couple of times a healer has done this to me I’ve begrudgingly finished the dungeon without saying anything and then immediately reported them for griefing.

Do healers who never use Sprint in a dungeon just see a tank speed off and think "Wow, look at that tank go! Must be some kind of tank-specific speed buff or something."

@Jun_on_Fire I use my sprint and, if I rush pass the tank, I will shield myself up and grab the 2nd pull then rescue the tank into position. I call it a self rescue, but also puts the tank on notice to pick up the pace.

I'll join a C41 EX to derust because I know I'm not THAT rusty and any mistakes I make are unlikely to wipe. I'm less likely to cause an issue than the 1 that's being C4'd and I'm not joining a farm party.

@Isabell_0000 @cheliseul there are queue sync events for FL sometimes! but realistically speaking everyone has a diff playstyle and if u main pvp like me u get bored playing just one job. i personally suck at melee so i main rangeds & supports - buffs and heals r just as important as dmg carries

@xNanagi You do realize that the cheating plugins do need like, a few weeks to even be functional in newer content, yes? The most people have access to right now would be Noclippy, which is just bare necessities for some, and does not provide unfair advantages.

@FCopernicium the many side characters who mainly appeared in one expansion only but could reappear in a later one. Not playing yourself is definitely missing out big time. And I would always recommend to not skip to new players, but in the end it’s their decision & I respect it.

Skip 250 hours of story as you like to play a few hours of raids. But once you finish the raid encounters and get bored, don’t complain about the game having nothing to offer. You skipped 250 hours and more of what else it has to offer.

It’s 2026, we are gonna be 6 expansions deep into FFXIV soon. Can we stop with the weird gatekeepy behavior if someone doesn’t want to play through 250 hours of story to be able to play some of the best MMO raid encounters ever made? Heaven forbid someone asks you a small lore question if they start getting interested in the story after starting the game 10 years late. Are we really gonna keep driving people away with this weird NIMBY ritual? Just use your social skills (lol) and answer the small question, suggest they start a story alt on their downtime, or direct them to a synopsis video on YouTube. Crying about “story skippers” this deep into a game’s development cycle is peak cringe. If they set up a skip to Dawntrail for new characters to jump into the new story arc I and many others feel like it would be beneficial for the game’s long term health. While the Hydaelyn/Zodiark arc is great storytelling it’s also not a sacred cow for people to clutch pearls over. At the end of the day, it’s a game to be played. We’re all better than this and should start acting like it.

tbh the few times I was interested in starting ffxiv I asked how I could just skip the story and just grind to endgame and they act like I kicked their dog and that's the main reason I have never played this game and never will
