He and Shannon had been wiring large amounts of money multiple times to individuals in Mexico, which investigators linked to drug proceeds.10 - Hours after the murders, police searched a storage unit rented by Mario (under a false name) and seized drugs including psilocybin mushrooms, marijuana, methamphetamine, and a white powder (plus cocaine/fentanyl traces on items).15 - The home invasion was a targeted robbery for cash/money.
