@BlakeHHarris Hey Blake, Listened to show last night and do wonder if Honeywell, would not have been the better choice after Brasier? He has done multiple innings so many times without too many problems. Know you don’t love his stuff.

Things could get scary if the Dodgers head back to LA trailing in the series Game 6 is a bullpen game, so you kinda need all 3 starters to shove in NY Then you have Walker Buehler for Game 7, a day after a bullpen game This is why winning Game 2 was so imperative

@THEREAL_DV Sad but understandable. Any reason why Kershaw can’t get surgery on toe now to remove the bone spur since he is not pitching and surgery not that risky.

@lauralara2000 @DodgerBlue1958 We are all frustrated, but Dave is merely putting out the company line and also dealing with a live situation which is subject to change at the last minute!

Dave Roberts on Freddie Freeman possibly not being in the lineup for Game 1: "I talked to him this morning, there was still some soreness. So we're trying to weigh the fact of being in there versus how effective he can be. ... That's why I'm trying to wait as long as I can to see and go through his pre-workout and prep, pregame stuff."

@DodgerInsider I was at the game against Montreal when John, hurt his elbow, little did we know the surgery that would follow-Dr. Jobe was amazing, and John deserves a place in the HOF, for his pitching alone.

@baseballmarty Marty, I have great respect for your baseball acumen, but do wonder if what Farhan needs is a strong counter to him in the Front Office. While very smart he has always been a number 2, to Bean in Oakland and Friedman in LA.

Just my opinion as to what may happen..usually when the print media starts getting information that normally would be kept in house that is a sign for me..I’ve always thought an additional talent evaluator is necessary one from the baseball side of the game..let’s see stay tuned

Yamamoto got hurt immediately after his longest and best outing of the year. Stone struggled immediately after his longest and best outing of the year. Flaherty struggled immediately after his longest and best outing of the year. Knack struggled immediately after the best outing of his career. Coincidence? I think not. #Dodgers

@Howard_Cole Howard, I know Dave Roberts is not your favorite Manager of all time, but you also know that half of the things he says regarding player movement and injuries are scripted by the Front Office

Translation: Dave cannot be trusted with anything resembling injury news. Literally never. And all I’d ask of him is to simply say “I don’t know” if he doesn’t know. And not when he does know.

@JeffPassan So if 6 teams in the majors have 95 wins, with aprox 40 left i say most if not all go over 500. That to me doesn’t make all of mlb mediocre,

This is shaping up to be the weirdest baseball season in a decade. With six weeks left, here are the dozen best records in MLB: Phillies: 73-51 Dodgers: 73-52 Orioles: 73-52 Yankees: 73-52 Guardians: 72-52 Brewers: 72-52 Twins: 70-54 Padres: 70-55 Royals: 69-55 D-backs: 69-56 Astros: 67-56 Braves: 66-58 And the best run differentials: Yankees: +116 Royals: +109 Brewers: +106 Phillies: +102 Dodgers: +101 Orioles: +90 Guardians: +78 Astros: +70 Diamondbacks: +70 Padres: +70 Twins: +70 Braves: +50 The best team in MLB is on pace for 95 wins. The last year without a 100-win team was 2014. Similarly, the last time the top run differential in baseball was less than +231 was ... 2014. It's barely half that at the moment. All of which is to say: A year after a 90-win wild card team faced an 86-win wild card team in the World Series, the 2024 championship looks as up for grabs as it's been in a long time.

@melissalockard Hi Melissa have always liked your stuff, but think that there are a number of very good teams with stars, will make the playoffs entertaining…Baltimore’s young starts, Cleveland doing amazing stuff, Yankees-Judge and Soto, Dodgers & Phillies, Pads and D-backs

Here's a Story about Kershaw's playoff legacy, and just one year of why it's not all what it seems. Don Mattingly destroyed Kershaw's legacy during his prime, what an awful manager. 2014 NLDS G1: Kershaw is through 6 innings 2 ER, (he gave up 1 in the 6th), but they're winning 6-2. He sends Kershaw back out for the 7th at 82 pitches no one warming, he gives up 3 straight singles, still no one warming, then gives up another single, bases still loaded no one out now 6-3 (STILL NO ONE WARMING). Kershaw then gets a K, but its bases loaded 1 out 6-3 and he's at 96 pitches. Next guy hits ANOTHER single, it's now 6-4. Now at 100 pitches (STILL NO ONE WARMING) Next guy Carpenter WHO HIT A HR OFF HIM LAST INNING. He fouls off 6 pitches and then hits a bases-clearing double on Kershaw's 110th pitch. it's now 6-7. Don then pulls him, Pedro Baez immediately gives up a HR, and Kershaw is charged for 6.2 IP, 8 ER 8 H's 10 K's 0 BB... He had 6 IP 2 ER 2 H's 8 K's 0 BB coming into the inning. No one was warming up til he was over 100 pitches.

@Howard_Cole The Kiermaier acquisition is not weird. He is high priced insurance. Jayson Hayward has had back issues this year. Pages can hit at times, but do you want him to play cf, in a tight playoff game in the 7th inning.?

If the Dodgers stick to the plan to activate Miguel Rojas tomorrow, I think they’ll keep Ahmed till Mookie returns, and option Outman. Probably want to ease Miggy back in a bit.
