It was on Wii U and you could even add custom achievements, with screenshots proving you did it posted to Miiverse. People didn’t buy Wii U and the industry shunned it, so Nintendo took it all away.

With Switch 2 versions of 3rd party games now releasing on par with other platforms, Nintendo really need to develop a universal achievement system tied to your Nintendo account. It’s really the deciding factor for some gamers on which platform they decide to get the game.
