Last week, @Zamara_fdn joined a convening by @fidakenya that brought together diverse voices to confront Technology-Facilitated Violence Against Women and Girls (#TFVAWG), a growing and deeply harmful reality in our digital spaces. A key highlight of the convening was the launch of a Policy Brief and a User-Friendly Guide aimed at strengthening action, accountability, and policy reform. As digital spaces continue to shape how we live, work, and connect, addressing TFVAWG is no longer optional it is urgent. #ZamaraVoices

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our very own Sifa Anyam, a cherished member of the ZAFLI Cohort 2 family. Sifa’s presence, spirit, and contribution will always remain a meaningful part of our community. Kenya now classifies health data as a “strategic national asset” — but who really controls it? Update: We have learnt from social media that the Court of Appeal appears to have stayed the High Court Judgment that had declared the Office of Advisors to the President and the subsequent staffing unconstitutional. On 23rd February 2026, the Court of Appeal heard the Attorney General's application to stay the judgment and declined the request to grant an interim stay pending the delivery of the Ruling on 24 April 2026. The news of this ruling today comes as a shock, as it was due to be delivered in a month and we, the Petitioners at the High Court and the main Respondent at the Appeal, have received no notice. Apart from the copy circulating in the social media, we are yet to receive the Ruling from the Court of Appeal. .@joshuamalidzo .@NoraMbagathi

This decision centers survivors of abuse in the tea sector and reaffirms the constitutional principles of integrity, dignity, and accountable leadership expected of public officials. A step forward for justice and protection of workers’ rights.

Judgment: The High Court at Kericho declared John Chebochok unfit to hold any public office in Kenya, finding that he violated constitutional provisions on national values and governance, equality and non-discrimination, human dignity, and leadership and integrity. The petition arose from a February 2023 BBC documentary in which women accused Chebochok of sexual harassment and exploitation in exchange for employment. Despite public allegations, he was cleared to contest for the position of director at Tegat/Toror Tea Factory in Ainamoi Zone. The Court also found that the Kenya Tea Development Agency Holdings Ltd (KTDA), the Tea Board of Kenya, and the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) failed in their duty by clearing him without proper due diligence.
