Latest Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, from responsible drinking campaigns to sustainability investments to creative approaches to engaging with young people around mindful consumption, these efforts are making a real impact.

🌍 Driving positive change: industry-led ESG initiatives 🌍 Every month we are proud to highlight the latest Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives from our members worldwide. From responsible drinking campaigns to sustainability investments to creative approaches to engaging with young people around mindful consumption, these efforts are making a real impact. 🍻 Heineken’s global push for mindful drinking Heineken launched its "0.0 Reasons Needed" campaign to address the stigma around no- and low-alcohol options. Based on research from the University of Oxford, the campaign challenges stereotypes and helps younger legal drinking age consumers feel more confident in choosing alcohol-free beverages. ⚽ Pernod Ricard’s football-focused responsible drinking campaign In the U.K., Pernod Ricard’s Jameson Irish Whiskey brand has partnered with Drinkaware to promote responsible drinking in football culture. Featuring former England international Jay Bothroyd, the campaign encourages fans to take Drinkaware’s free "Drinking Check" quiz to better understand their drinking habits. 🚨 Tackling counterfeit alcohol in Zimbabwe Mast-Jägermeister and Pernod Ricard have launched the "hashtag#BuyOriginal" campaign to raise awareness about counterfeit alcohol. Highlighting the dangers of illicit products, the initiative educates consumers on how to identify authentic bottles through new visual markers introduced by Jameson and Jägermeister. 🐚 Moët Hennessy’s marine conservation success in Scotland Moët Hennessy’s Glenmorangie brand has been restoring oyster reefs in the Dornoch Firth for over a decade, working alongside the Marine Conservation Society and Heriot-Watt University. The Scottish Parliament recently passed a motion recognising the project’s success in revitalising marine biodiversity. 🌾 Brown-Forman, Diageo & Suntory’s support for sustainable farming In the U.S., Brown-Forman, Diageo, and Suntory Global Spirits have joined a US$2.8 million initiative to support Kentucky’s corn farmers in adopting regenerative agriculture practices. This five-year program, led by the Kentucky Distillers’ Association, will provide conservation specialists to help farmers implement sustainable and economically viable improvements. hashtag#Sustainability hashtag#ModerationMatters hashtag#ESG hashtag#IARD 👉 Read more here: drinks-intel.com/news/alcohol-b…

September's UN High-Level Meeting on NCDs is a pivotal moment for global public health. 📊 IARD and our members are fully committed to the UN process and we have developed a new booklet based on the latest WHO data. It shows what works and where the most progress has been made. 📉 Encouragingly, global alcohol-attributable mortality rates dropped 20% over ten year (2010–2019). However, important national disparities remain to be addressed. 👉 To get a clear view of the trends across different countries, download the booklet at iard.org #NCDs #ResponsibleDrinking #UNSDGs

I think my relationship with alcohol is good - enjoying wine at dinner or a beer with friends on Sundays. But I've never checked my drinking until recently with @drinkaware's Drinking Check. Join me, check your drinking, and #KnowYourScore today ➡️ bit.ly/3BBkcUN #ad

Setting the benchmark for responsible digital marketing! 🎉 The world's leading beer, wine, and spirits producers are using cutting-edge tecnology and collobarating with global digital platforms to help ensure their alcohol marketing only reaches those above the legal purchase age (LPA). This comes together in the Digital Guiding Principles: five key safeguards that IARD members have embedded across their brands and marketing activities. The impact is clear: Accenture's indepedent assessment found that, in 2024, full compliance has reached 98.2%, a huge improvement from 67% in 2018. This milestone highlights our member's commitments to help reduce underage drinking, and demonstrates the strength of partnerships in promoting responsible consumption. This initiative responds to the call by the United Nations on the sector in 2018 to take "concrete steps" towards eliminating marketing of alcohol products to minors as part of efforts to reduce underage drinking. It also supports the delivery of WHO goals to reduce harmful drinking and reflects our commitment to global health priorities. #ResponsibleMarketing #GlobalHealth #Sustainability #Progress Find out more: iard.org/actions/digita…
