@dirtevader @ryancohen Thanks for the perspective, Dirt! I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. The sky is definitely the limit.

My interpretation on cards were PSA graded for the near future. Which GameStop staff already have written instructions on how to authenticate PSA slabs. As far as raw cards, I don’t think the intention is to actually grade them in-store. But there might be a few PSA on site graders like this one below.
Cards HQ has a store in Atlanta, and just announced one for Chicago or Cleveland, or maybe it was Columbus, OH. But I’d say a few select GameStop locations might have onsite PSA graders too, if they pinpoint some active hot card market locations.
As far as other collectibles, I think the industry is closer to NFC technology not only with graded cards but PSA’s parent company also owns PCCS, which is a collectible coins, bills, etc. grader, and that group already includes embedding an NFC chip in their case.
The NFC chip allows anyone with a smart to hold their phone near it, and read the pertinent info for that collectible. Louie Vuitton and other high value items, like purses, watches, etc., have already gone in that direction too. The NFC chip would be near impossible to counterfeit. Especially if they put that collectible on blockchain and assign every one to a unique ID.
But also the fulfillment part for anything that an eBay seller might sell, is a big plus too. Live selling at an in-store studio would be cool for repeat sellers and promo events. Like the Trade Anything Day that GameStop had last year.
Sky is the limit, imo.
I bought a PSA slab from Gamestop a week ago, from the point I added it to my cart, to checkout, paying with my Apple card, and receiving the confirmation of my order was less than a minute. I literally said, holy crap that was fast. RC will make the eBay experience flawless over time.
Now I need to rewatch Casino. Joe Pesci and Don Rickles are two of my favorites if that was RC’s favorite movie. As far as I know, it may have been remade already.

@ryancohen I've watched all of your recent interviews and I've heard one repeated theme in regards to the Ebay deal: All of the Gamestop physical locations become authentication hubs. Can you expand on how/what technology you'd utilize to authenticate Ebay collectibles?
English

@dirtevader @ryancohen 2 of 2.... authenticate items across 1600 stores, you're likely not going to rely on potential human error and staff training for that (or maybe you are), I'd think you'd implement a technology solution for fast authentication and consistency?
English

@dirtevader @ryancohen I understand it's about card authenticity and potentially other items. I guess my question is more in the technical weeds of how they're going to execute that and what technology are they going to use? They currently send cards out to PSA to grade. If you're going to... 1 of 2
English

@dirtevader @ryancohen Thanks, Dirt. I'll go back and re listen.

This is fucking insane.
The Bed Bath CUSIP could have been dismissed due to the company identifier information
But how, where and why the fuck does a company run by Pulte, who had a keen interest in our community, randomly appear attached to the former estates bonds 🫨
koebbel@koebbel741
Issuer Information prospectus is literally Freddie Mac for the DKBFLY 2044 bonds Wooooow This is what winning feels like 🏆

@peruvian_bull What do you suspect comes next? This is a bigger issue IMO than the attention it's getting...

the Iran ceasefire was supposed to be the yen's relief valve.
basically a reversal of the energy doom loop; energy costs drop, import bill falls, current account pressure eases, yen rallies.
but instead, USDJPY is back at 161.9 even tho the BoJ just hiked rates to 1.00% in mid june, the highest rate in 31 years.
ironically that hike is still not enough to close the 275 basis point gap against the Fed.

@CGasparino @nypost @CitronResearch It's interesting that you continuously defend alleged criminals like Cifu and Left and attempt to attack and embarrass true patriots like our new Director of National Intelligence, Mr. Bill Pulte.
You're in deep, my boy. Sad really. Walls are closing in. Tick tock.
