PBAT @ 74: REMINISCENCE OF A FORMER ENVOY & SPOKESMAN An old axiom famously states that the truest measure of a teacher's greatness is the extent to which their transfer of knowledge resonates, not during the course of study, but long after the student ventures out beyond the four walls of the classroom. Today, I reflect upon a great teacher. It is true that I am one presidential spokesman who will never write a book about my cherished time in that exalted office — not for lack of memory retention and copious documentation — but born out of a deep appreciation that the most prized experiences are sometimes best kept to one's bosom until the end. However, for every year that God Almighty is pleased to add to the life of my Father and Boss, H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, I consider it a solemn honour and obligation to posterity to share specific insights I gleaned from the greatest strategic mind that our nation has ever produced. Ever discerning of all actors within the vast sphere of Mr. President's influence — their strengths, their weaknesses, their histories, their motivations, the limits of their fidelity, and their utility in the larger development picture of the country he oversees from the apex — the magisterial eye of the 16th head of state is uniquely guided by the heart of a gardener; one who loves to see good seed grow into all that it has been prepared to become. While I certainly cannot and will never assert that I stand amongst Daddy's illustrious sons and pupils, I can attest that the day I met H.E. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I could be defined by a vulnerability that comes with most political outsiders and new-to-government technocrats: a knee-jerk instinct to immediately solve a problem once encountered. The Great Teacher — wielding profound examples, deep native wisdom, and ruthless pragmatism refined in the inferno of life-and-death problem-solving experience — proved that in Nigerian public sector leadership, there are peculiar multi-phase problems for which attentive restraint and foresight are required to resolve. That some problems, in later phases, reveal the final solution to all stages of it, which would be missed in a premature, impatient, but well-meaning rush to address it during the infancy of that same problem. Daddy, in the silent night's inner sanctum of the suit-and-gun fortified fortress, with his trademark depth of monolithic attention paid to me in the moment, paradigm-shifted me in hushed tones to understand that the heart to solve a problem is not enough for a leader to possess; neither is it sufficient to accurately diagnose a problem. But that the fullness of effective leadership entails the accurate sequencing, timing, tailoring, and application of solutions while taking into deliberate account all prevailing factors within the ecosystem of a problem. In the frenetic time of throne room mentorship, I was double-appointed and tasked simultaneously at 37 years of age to be the voice of Africa’s most powerful leader and a mandate-carrying special envoy to the rest of the world on an existential crisis facing all of humanity. In the busyness of that season, much learning could not fully sink in. And yet, years after leaving office, new levels of understanding of rich but not fully grasped wisdom spoken to me years prior by the great teacher are unlocked. Presently, as an enterprise owner and father of five children, far removed from the intricacies and jousting of power's corridors, I rely more than ever on words spoken to me by my Father and Teacher while I write the content of this quiet chapter of my life. As inhabitants of a world in which hyper-ambitious but undertalented men rule over the best to the detriment of all, we are fortunate as Nigerians, in this defining hour of our national history, to be led by a man of merit whose brave rise was not defined by who he knew but by the measure of his performance at every pivot point on his hard-earned ascent to power...

Key words 1. Filing: Everyone MUST file a return on income earned from January to December of the previous year by March. 2. Yes, even if you earn only N1, you must still submit an annual return. Must ooh. 3. Even if your employer deducted PAYE or you made payments during the year, you still need to file a return. 4. If you don't file, you will face a penalty. Avoid unnecessary penalties.

The tax filing date remains unchanged; you must file within 90 days from the start of each assessment year, which is around 30th March of each tax year. The N100,000 plus N50,000 per month mentioned is the penalty for not filing FROM 2027, when you should have filed taxes for 2026. For 2025. Penalties for 2025 not filing are approximately N5,000 plus N100 per day. Once again, EVERYONE MUST FILE a personal tax return, regardless of your income or whether you have paid taxes through your employer or by other means.

I saw this video as soon as Rinu posted it and my initial reaction was to criticise these Nigerians who are selling their future for as little as 2,000 Naira. But I needed to quickly step out to buy fuel, and the first thing I noticed was how hot the sun is. It occurred to me that I have not had any reason to open my curtains or step outside since morning. Not having to hustle during the weekend after going to work the whole week is a privilege that many Nigerians do not have. In the 15 to 20 minutes that it took me to get fuel and return to my house, I saw no fewer than 5 women and children hawking different items like pepper, frozen fish, and cold drinks in the hot sun. While I complained about the sun, they had no alternative but to be in it if they must survive. It again occurred to me that I can afford to buy at least 10,000 Naira worth of fuel at a go while these hawkers struggle to make 1,000 Naira a day in profit, and if someone offered them 2,000 just to sing the praises of politicians, they would gladly do so. I got home and put my generator on, and as I sit now typing this tweet, it has again occurred to me that those hawkers that I saw definitely do not have generators at home, and will suffer from the same heat that I can afford to prevent. Although I knew that I was more privileged than some Nigerians, juxtaposing my lifestyle side by side with those of the hawkers made me realise how privileged I am. My point is that it is easy to judge these people from our privileged vantage points, but we must recognise that many Nigerians are victims of a system which is working efficiently to keep them poor and unproductive so that they can sell their future for as little as 2,000 Naira. Conclusively, we should be more favourable in our criticism of them.

Here’s the backstory and how his father sabotaged his son getting the required Justice he deserves. Chidi was invited by a girl whom he has been publicly replying her post on X for a skit, he was told he would be acting the role of a Prince in the skit, note he was never a content creator but someone who is verse in the crypto world hence his nickname “KryptoKnight”, he was very skeptical of going there cos he made a video that day that he’s hungry and does not know maybe he should eat first or go to the location for the shoot. He proceeded to the address he was given and met with the girl and her crew for the first time that day and his script giving to him, later that night he said he’s hungry and on their way out to get the food, he was attacked by some group of guys and his stomach was sliced opened and left to bleed on the road till life left him, this same girl he met on X came to act ignorantly and posted that she saw his dead body lying lifeless on the road and that anyone who knows him should please get to the police station at Mpappe in Abuja, people did investigation and saw that they’ve both been talking cos their timelines shows that, the person I sent to Abuja confirm the police arrested the girl and her crew so his dad was informed and I duly told him that his son will get Justice and he should brief me about everything.the girl was used to lure Chidi out to that he can be murdered by someone whom he had issues with, the girls first lied that it was Fulani herdsmen that attacked them and killed Chidi but later changed their stories. The dad initially after getting to Abuja was briefing me until he suddenly told me to stop any conversations about his son on X which I told everyone to and that’s how the case went cold, no hearing from the dad even if I call him he would answer me angrily, there was a time I saw friends of him were donating money into his dad’s account I called his attentions to it cos I know his parents have been divorced for years and nothing would get to the mother but he was basically just shouting at me that he didn’t give anyone his account number I just played it cool. Chidi mom has been his biggest supporter and if that woman had 100k, Chidi is taking 99k of her money, only her was sponsoring his education single-handedly and went he said he’s relocating to Abuja for greener pastures she supported him in prayers and financially so I was surprised when friends were donating money for his father alone. Because of the way the father wasn’t communicating with me to know the state of the case, the case was changed, no autopsy was done on Chidi, his body was released to his dad for him to bury his son, I wasn’t informed until when Chidi was buried and someone called my attention to it, today those whom murdered Chidi have been set free and living their lives, the soul of the person they murdered is wandering the face of the earth and seeking Justice, I have not stopped thinking about him cos how can a kind soul be murdered and the father did everything for his son not to get Justice, today the mom is a shadow of her once bubbling self😢.

I'm pleased to inform us that the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Nigeria has successfully undergone the MDCN re-accreditation process. As a result, they have now been given full accreditation and their training quota has been increased from 15 to SIXTY (60) students and 48 House Officers. You remember when we raised awareness and Peter Obi intervened with N15 million donation that was used to equip their lab? That was when the story changed forever. They are the only institution offering dentistry in the South East. 15 slots have been the case for several decades and now things have changed forever.

The man behind Ogbunigwe during the Biafran war, Prof Felix Oragwu. Happy 92nd birthday, Prof.
Olaudah Equiano®@RealOlaudah

Professor Felix Oragwu at 92 The man who powered Biafran aircrafts with palmoil and produced the Ogbunigwe Prof Felix N. C. Oragwu is a nuclear physicist, educated at Christ the King College (CKC) Onitsha, Nigeria, the Universities of Glasgow in Scotland, School of Graduate Studies, Physics Department (Research), University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada and Physics Department (Research), University of Manchester, in England respectively. He began his teaching career as University Lecturer in Physics, at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), in 1960s before the Nigerian Civil War of 1967-1970. During the Civil War he served as the Head Research Planning / Coordinator Technological Services of the Science and Technology (S&T/RAP) Group that operated the technological aspects of the Industrial War Machine in Biafra from 1967/1970. At the height of the conflict, while resources were scarce, he and his team did the unthinkable, they successfully processed palm oil to power a jet airplane thereby turning a local resource into aviation fuel. The team also developed the famous Ogbunigwe aka Ojukwu Bomb. His team was also behind the brain that processed crude oil into refine petroleum, using natural resources that were obtained in the eastern region. After the war, the federal government led by Gen. Yakubu Gowon assembled Biafran scientists and technical talent to help build an industrialization project for Nigeria. Dr. Oragwu presented a proposal and layout for an institute, but unfortunately, Murtala Muhammed was uncomfortable with the idea. He vehemently opposed the initiative, viewing it as a move to empower former rebels, and consequently rejected the idea. Some reports stated that after the rejection, Murtala Muhammed together with Ibrahim Taiwo etc assembled the materials which included the blueprint that produced ogbunigwe and aviation fuel from palm oil and, poured fuel on them and set same ablaze. Ironically, Indonesia celebrated its first commercial flight using palm oil-blended jet fuel on October 27, 2023, something Oragwu and his team had already done more than five decades ago. On 22 March 2026, this great man turned 92 years. Long may you live Professor Felix Oragwu. Culled

@iamcolynx @EhisOjeks That can only happen if he never programmed or punched 15k in the first place. If he programmed 15k and wants to add 35k, it will definitely start from zero.

At the filling station we went to today, there were two attendants. My mum said he should sell 50k fuel. He sold 15k, then the other attendant with him said, “She said 50, not 15.” He replied, “Oh sorry, sorry,” and put in 35k. My mum feels there is a scam they do with that first 15k they sell, because the same thing happened the last time she bought fuel there, and it’s the same attendants. What do y’all think?
